“What am I supposed to wear during sorority recruitment?” is one of the questions I get asked most frequently across my platforms. Lucky for you, this week I’ve put together my “What to Wear” for sorority recruitment series, giving you thirty outfit ideas for your rush week.
On Monday I shared 10 outfits for Open House round and yesterday I shared 10 outfits for Sisterhood round. Today, we’re wrapping up the series with 10 outfits for Preference round also known as the final round of recruitment. During this round, you will meet with your top sororities and be shown a glimpse into their philanthropy + sacred ceremonies. It is a very special day and one where you will hopefully be given a sign that “you’re home”.
As you know, each day the rounds get a bit dressier with Preference being the fanciest of them all. Most girls will be wearing a dress and heels this day however, rompers, jumpsuits, sets, and skirts are still allowed. I encourage you to put your best foot forward this day as it is the last time you will see the sorority before they make their final decision, and you yours.
I scored these lace-up heels from SheIn a few weeks ago and instantly knew they needed to be a part of my recruitment outfit guide. These have a few lace-ups and the funkiest heel you’ve ever seen. The geometric shapes are so unique and will score you tons of compliments throughout recruitment.
I’ve done ahead and based the rest of my outfit around these shoes. This tule dress is adorable. With off-the-shoulder bell sleeves and the most adorable mesh overlay, this is perfect! If you’re a senior in high school looking for grad photo inspo, this is the piece.

Most chapters require their members to wear white the day of Preference round so wearing white yourself will have you fitting right in! I wore white with pops of yellow accessories for my own round and received so many sweet comments from girls throughout the day.
This dress is from Petal and Pup and is so cute. It has a wrap front and the most adorable puff sleeves. For shoes, I’m popping on some of my favorite lace-ups. These are a few seasons old from SheIn but I’ve linked similar for you to shop.

When I stumbled across this midi dress I knew it’d be perfect for this series. There’s something so unique about this piece that will have you standing out in the best way possible. This silk looks so expensive and a midi dress is super sophisticated. This one has a halter neckline with a tie back—it’s such a fun combo! I seriously couldn’t love this more. For shoes, I’m slipping on white heels. These have a clear strap that admittedly gets so uncomfortable after some time. I don’t recommend them unless you’re used to walking in heels!

I absolutely love this pleated floral dress from SheIn! This too is a super unique piece—you’re guaranteed to be wearing something different than everyone else. The neckline is a little lower than average but it’s nothing a sticky bra can’t fix. There are pastel florals throughout so to match, I popped on a pair of pink mules and matching floral earrings. I have a summer wedding next month and I have a feeling I’ll be wearing this look for one of the events.

This look is a little fancier than the norm for Preference but for some southern schools, I have a feeling this would work just fine! I absolutely love this ivory satin maxi dress. It’s got sinched detailing along the sides and a high leg slit to elongate the legs. For shoes, I’m slipping into strappy, butterfly detail heels. These are cool and score me lots of compliments every time I wear them. To coordinate I’m popping on matching earrings. You’ll look like a million bucks in this combo and yet the entire outfit is under $60 with my code Q4mckenz15!

Like I’ve said, you really can’t go wrong with a maxi dress for this round. This is one of my favorites of the bunch as it’s got sweet puff sleeves and a sweetheart neckline. It’s full length but stops just at the ankles to show off your shoes. Because there is a high slit along one leg, I figured a pair of lace-up heels would help elongate the legs + give me just a little lift. These nude ones are from Lulus and are some of my go-to’s! For accessories I’m sticking to my usual gold jewels and reaching for those nude butterfly earrings you see in every post of mine.

Want a dress that you can wear for several occasions?! This dress is for you. It comes in a handful of colors yet I chose the nude. You can wear this as a cowl neck or tie it halter style as I’ve done here. It gives you an open back that’s incredibly flattering. I popped on nude heels and decided to keep my hair up for this outfit to showcase a big pair of statements earrings. Dress this piece down for dinner with friends by belting it and throwing on sneakers later!

This look is like a little black dress but romper edition! Although most people will be wearing dresses, rompers are definitely still allowed. If it’s what you feel most confident in, then, by all means, wear the romper. This is one of my favorite SheIn pieces ever. It has a cowl neckline that is so classy + flattering. It also has a tie-back detail that’s super unique. I threw this on with a simple pair of block heels. These are super easy to walk in which is necessary for a long day like Preference round!

I thought I’d throw in another romper outfit since I know they are a favorite of many of you! This romper would also be great for graduation/senior photos if you’re not in college yet. This romper has thin adjustable straps that cater towards all chest sizes and an overlay, leaving this as shorts in the back but giving off a dress look along the front.
I decided a pop of color would help spice this outfit up a bit. These pink chunky heels are the best—they are older from SheIn but I’ve found a couple of similar pairs for you to shop. Matching earrings really tie this outfit together.

In yesterday’s post, I shared this dress in a different colorway and today I’ve got it in the white with pink polka dots. This is one of my favorite dress styles ever—puff sleeves accompanied by a sweetheart neckline are the ultimate duo. To dress this piece up a bit I’m slipping into white espadrille wedges from Franco Sarto. These have a super short heel that’s very manageable for long walking distances. Plus, they have a velcro closure making them easy to adjust to your foot.
