Last week I moved back to Kent to begin my final year at Kent State University. This school year I will be living in an off-campus apartment with three of my best friends! The apartment is a four-bedroom four bathroom, meaning I have lots of space to myself.
I plan on sharing a full apartment tour within the coming weeks so you can see our kitchen, living room, and laundry area but for now, I wanted to start by sharing a peek into my bedroom + bathroom.
I spent weeks gathering items, working with several different brands to create the space of my dreams. Special shoutouts to Ikea, Desenio, Bed Bath and Beyond, Urban Outfitters, TJ Maxx, and The Container Store for helping me bring this space to life. I couldn’t have done it without you!

I shared a blog post earlier this month sharing my best tips and tricks on putting together your dream room. I took my own advice, starting off with a few inspo pics from Pinterest. These were the photos I was using for reference when planning out my new space. As you can see, I definitely went for some brighter “color” (personal preference) but other than that, I’d say I nailed it!
My first time having a big bed! Had to stock up on all kinds of pillows.
duvet cover // duvet insert // sheets // tan bed blanket // throw blanket // curtains // tension rod // command hooks (curtains)
The beds in our apartment complex come about six inches off the ground but I went ahead and lifted it even more with bed risers to fit my laundry basket, luggage, and even more storage containers underneath.
under the bed storage // collapsable laundry bins // bed risers // bed skirt
headboard // pillow shams // rust pillows // white long pillow
This is my third year creating a gallery wall with Desenio and each year I love it more. Went with white frames this year to switch things up a bit!
ikea frames // desenio wall prints // velcro command strips
The only piece I purchased day-of was this gold mirror. I needed something to open up the room a bit + take up this wall. I’m in love.
gold mirror // jewelry containers
My desk area is in full swing. 75% of my courses are given online this semester so I needed a functional workspace. I’ve got all of the necessities out on display for easy access (and because the desk only comes with one lousy drawer).
three gold mirrors // trash can // rug
tape dispenser // stapler // white and gold lamps
My first “walk-in” closet—woohoo! Truthfully, this could not be a more inconvenient configuration but regardless I’m excited. There’s nothing in it yet—just waiting on my packages to start rolling in! I went with big storage bins from The Container Store to maximize my space along the top.
velvet hangers // closet storage bins // shoe rack // over the door shoe holder // drawer dividers
Not the full-length mirror I planned on using this year but the only one that could fit in this space… It gets the job done, I suppose!
Similar to my bedroom, I wanted to keep a warm, bohemian feel throughout my bathroom. I did, however, choose to take things a beachier route for a relaxed, summertime vibe.
towels // half bath mat // shower bath mat // shower curtain
Keeping my makeup out on the counter was the only way to fit everything. I actually love it so far. It’s super convenient and doubles as a “vanity” which I’ve never truly had.
under the sink storage // shower caddy
More prints from Desenio hanging in the bathroom. I had to go for something beachy to remind me summer’s near even in the dead of an Ohio winter.

I want to live off-campus next year, too, but so far I don’t have any friends willing to share the rent. Well, I still have a year to find good company.
Your new room looks really cool!
