If I’ve learned anything throughout my time in college it’s that nothing beats a comfy outfit. While yes, I am a fashion major (and a fashion blogger at that), I still love a pair of sweats as much as the next girl.
Over the last two months, I’ve been partnering with Koolaburra by Ugg to share some of my go-to back-to-school outfits. While they may seem a bit casual compared to what you typically see from me, they are my reality—especially as I take another semester of (mostly) remote classes + work nearly forty hours from home.
This post is not sponsored; I just wanted to sit down and round up these photos since so many of you loved these outfits + requested links to shop.
Koolaburra is the newest member of the Ugg family. This lifestyle brand was designed for the modern family, with wardrobe staples for everyone. Whether you’re looking for a new pair of slippers, boots, or sneakers they’ve got em all. They are a fraction of the cost of your typical Uggs yet they feel just as good with high quality, super soft fur.
I’m sure this outfit catches nobody by surprise. I’ve been wearing a variation of it non-stop lately. In Saturday’s blog post I touched on these Body Contour tops from Express and they are so good that I’ve got another one styled here today. The material of these are to die for— they are double-lined, thick enough to wear without a bra, not too cropped, and so versatile. I wear mine with blazers and joggers lol.
However, no lazy day outfit is complete without a pair of slippers. These are the Fuzz-It slippers from Koolaburra and they are to die for. Last school year I wore the Disco slides from Ugg non-stop and while they were adorable, they weren’t nearly as cozy. Plus, they had super thick platform soles; the Fuzz-It’s are much shorter and far easier to walk in.

While I do love a good pair of joggers, sweat shorts have quickly become a staple in my back-to-school closet. Boohoo is my favorite place to grab them. These heathered gray ones are super soft and give me that cozy feel without causing me to overheat on my way to class. Temperatures have yet to cool down, so these will be on repeat for a few more weeks.
A seamless cami goes great with them. I have this Forever 21 one in a handful of colors and I reach for it all the time. This time around I’m slipping into the Fuzz-Ah slides from Koolaburra. These slides have one strap along the front, whereas the last pair has a criss-cross. These come in four different colors and I’m wearing the black!

Off to in-person class for the first time in over a year. It’s definitely a weird adjustment but it feels so good to interact with other students and my professors. I will admit it’s weird getting dressed and ready each day! I used to love wearing frilly dresses and skirts to class but after a year of comfy clothes, I’m having a hard time getting back into that groove.
I figured a step up from sweats were a good ole pair of leggings. Pop em on with a cropped crewneck and you’re good to go. Throw on a headband and cute mini uggs to complete your outfit. As temperatures begin to cool down, I know this look will be my go-to. It’s quite the hike to class from my apartment complex so I’m sure these shoes will keep my feet extra warm.

I love a loungewear moment but come fall I catch myself layering oversized sweaters over leggings all. the. time. It’s the easiest way to look polished and put together while still staying comfy. This cozy knit is from Aerie and was one of my top sellers last month! It’s a little longer in the back to cover your tush and has a cute slit along the side.
You can dress this combo up with a pair of heeled booties or keep things casual with your favorite Uggs. I grabbed the Koola Mini II’s in two different colors because they are just that good. The fur is crazy soft, keeping your foot extra toasty. The Mini’s are a bit shorter than your average Ugg boot, making them super easy + lightweight to walk in.
They also look awesome with joggers and yoga pants. I have a feeling that’ll be my go-to come baseball season.

Now through September 12, the entire Koolaburra by Ugg site is 25% off—run don’t walk to grab a pair while they are still on sale! I know I’ll be getting lots more use out of these kicks throughout the coming months. (Let’s be real…snow season will be here before we know it!)
Let me know if you want to see more comfy outfit ideas for class. In the meantime, make sure you’re checking back each Sunday for my Weekly Wrap Ups to see more “real-time” outfits like these!
With love, McKenz
