Styling My Top 10 Favorite Pairs of Express Jeans

It’s no secret that Express jeans are my favorite! I discovered their jeans in high school and have been hooked ever since. With fall right around the corner and back-to-school season in full swing, a denim refresh was much needed. I wear jeans for literally everything—class, going out, first dates, and fun with friends. And while Gen Z may say straight legs are the new skinny jeans, I’ve never been one to conform to denim trends. 

I’m happy to try the latest “it” style but I also know what flatters my figure best and will continue to buy them season after season. So, after a killer stock up during their end-of-summer sale, I figured it was only right to round up ten of my favorite pairs. Of course, I’m also styling them for the fall so you can score some outfit inspiration for every occasion. 

Late Summer Date Night

Who said you can’t wear white after Labor Day?! That’s a rule of the past, my friends. I definitely don’t reach for white denim often, but when I do these cropped flares are always my go-to. These are super forgiving and unlike a lot of white jeans, aren’t see-through at all. They have minimal distressing throughout the knees and have my favorite cropped flare fit. 

I especially love the cropped flares paired with heels. This makes for the ultimate first date duo. This adorable black tank is from SheIn and is incredibly flattering. Finish off the look with minimal gold jewels and a cute baguette bag.

Weekend With The Girls 

A fall girl’s day is always on my weekend agenda and this outfit is a no-brainer. I’m starting off in the basics: a good ole pair of straight-leg jeans and a seamless white tank. I wear this combo all the time and it never fails. To keep things casual I’m slipping into a pair of high-top Converse and am popping on a leather shacket. I love this layering piece as it can easily be thrown overtop a basic tee or can be worn buttoned up for a motto moment.

Fall Festivities 

There’s something about a fall flannel that gets me every time. They are incredibly versatile and can be styled in so many different ways. This one is the perfect mix of tan and brown neutrals! I’ve got it buttoned up and front tucked into a pair of slim jeans from Express. 

This new style is the perfect happy-medium of skinny and straight legs. If you’re wanting something a bit more form-fitting, yet not restricting these are going to be your best friend. Plus, the ankle cut works so well with slip-on mules or your favorite pair of booties.

Night Out With Friends

My go-to outfit for a night out with friends always starts with a pair of Express jeans. Their cropped flares are without a doubt my favorite style from them. Not only are they flattering on my petite frame but the cropped length works so well with heels to help elongate the legs. Plus, these are a stretch-plus material meaning you can easily break it down on the dance floor without fear of your pants splitting open, lol. 

A black bodysuit is another going-out essential. I love this one from their Body Contour line. These are double-lined with enough support to wear without a bra. Plus, they’ve got the perfect scoop neck with just enough boob on display. Swap the heels for booties and throw on a cardigan to transition this outfit to daytime.

Afternoon Apple Picking 

I’m not usually a huge fan of straight-leg jeans but something about these was calling my name. These jeans are super high-rise with a raw hem and an ankle-length crop. I love this combo, especially with these neutral mules. These are from Chinese Laundry and are the perfect summer-to-fall transition shoe—they’ve been going strong for three years now and I love them more with each passing year. 

Because these jeans come up so high, they pair well with all of my favorite cropped tops. This tan one is so flattering and has the perfect wrap-around front. I’m popping on my new felt hat to complete the outfit. Something like this is perfect for an afternoon of apple picking!

Cutesy For Class

I just know these jeans are going to be on repeat all season long. These light wash jeans have a few rips along the knees and are the prefect mom fit. They give off a more relaxed feel than some of the cropped flares which are ideal when headed to class.

Throw on your favorite graphic tee and a pair of high-top sneakers and you’re good to go for a day on campus! Such an easy combo yet still cute.

Layered in Plaid

I wasn’t kidding when I said flannels are a must in the fall. This one is from SheIn and was my absolute favorite last season. It’s super thick with a light fleece lining that keeps you extra warm. Keep it on during those brisk mornings then tie it around your shoulders as temperatures rise throughout the afternoon. Underneath, I’m wearing another Body Contour favorite. These high neck bodysuits are so flattering and seamlessly tuck into all bottoms. I have this style in a handful of colors and wear it all the time. 

For jeans, I’ve got on the perfect mix of gray and black. I love the wash of these as it’s a shade that can easily be dressed up or down. These are one of the few full-length pairs that I picked up but, of course, I have them cuffed with my favorite pair of walking sneakers!

Back At The Office

So many of you girlies have been asking for business casual outfit inspiration. While I’m not heading into an office anytime soon, this type of outfit is on my radar. I know a lot of workplaces do allow denim as long as there are no rips throughout. These cropped flares are perfect; plus, the black gives things a dressier feel. 

My color-blocked button-up is from SheIn and is so adorable. This could easily be worn on its own or layered with a blazer over top. Slip into simple black mules and a few gold jewels and you’re good to go!

Pumpkin Picking 

Pumpkin patch season is right around the corner and these bootleg jeans are perfect for the occasion. The model looked so adorable in these that I just couldn’t resist. They flare out just a little without giving me overly seventies vibes. Because of this, I felt a pair of heeled booties would look best with these. I’m about 5’2 and with a two-inch shoe, these jeans fall at the perfect length. 

This cross-front sweater is the cutest. Bishop sleeves give it a unique touch and the soft brown screams fall photos. Of course, I had to toss on my favorite hat. It makes every outfit a bit more complete!

Everyday Errands 

My fall uniform is a comfy pair of jeans, a cute sweater, and a good ole pair of sneakers. These cropped flares are made of that same stretch plus fabric that’s so soft for a day of running around. I mentioned these jeans are super versatile as far as footwear options go—this time around I’m wearing my Dolce Vita Zina sneakers. These are the only sneakers I can stand to walk in for hours on end. Not only are they comfy but they’re adorable too.

Sizing

I always get tons of questions on sizing when it comes to Express jeans. I am a 25-inch waist and always wear a 00 regardless of the material. While they do offer petite and long styles, at 5’2/5’3ish I always get their regular length. I am on the shorter side but my legs are “regular length”, lol! As for the rest of their clothing, I wear an XS.
