I spend a lot of time curating looks in cool locations around town and yet it seems my mirror picture blog posts always perform best amongst you. Perhaps it’s because you can better envision what the outfit would look like on you rather than in a staged, posed backdrop, or perhaps it’s because you enjoy seeing more than just a few outfits.
Either way, today I’ve come up with a master blog post of twenty outfit ideas for fall 2021. Throughout this post, I’ve made sure to give you a mix of this season’s top trends + staple pieces that every girl should have in their wardrobe. Plus, I’ve given you a mix of outfits for going out, school, and other fun fall festivities. You’ve got it all.
The best part is, a majority of the items styled in today’s post are from SheIn meaning they are super budget-friendly. Plus, you can use my code Q4mckenz15 to get 15% off your entire purchase. Happy shopping!

It’s about time we start bundling up for the fall temps. This white turtleneck sweater came in a four-pack from SheIn and is the softest basic ever. These are awesome for layering, especially under thick puffer coats like this one. I am a sucker for this brown faux leather. This jacket has just enough puff and is the perfect amount of oversized to layer up underneath.
For jeans, I’m going back to my roots with a pair of skinnies! I’ve been wearing these nonstop lately with my high-shaft boots. I love this style and have them in a few different colors. The browns match almost exactly!

Headed out for the night? Grabbing drinks with your girlfriends or checking out a new spot? Do it in style with a layered leather moment. This mini top comes in a bunch of different colors but I gabbed it in the classic black. I’m layering over my go-to leather shacket. I wear this all the time—whether it be with a hoodie, sweater, or going out tank.
Straight-leg jeans are a must to contrast the tiny top. These are some of my favs. Of course, I’m breaking out my sock booties for a little extra height.

If you know me then you know jeans and a sweater is my never-fail outfit combo. I reach for a variation of this almost every other day because it just… works. This two-piece sweater came with the most adorable matching cardigan + tank top. With my go-to cropped flare jeans and my new favorite Steve Madden boots, these are a match made in heaven.

Sweater vests are the first thing that comes to mind when I think of a cute fall festival outfit. I have a few but this burnt orange one is easily one of my favorites. It has a super relaxed fit to it with a v-neck and buttons along the sides. Of course, you can layer a button-up or long sleeve underneath of this but I’m leaving it on its own for those random warm days we’ve been having.
These jeans are the perfect mix of skinny and straight. Because they are ankle length, they look especially good with little slip-on mules. I found my favorites of three years on sale! Plus, anytime I’m wearing these shoes you can expect to see my matching Lulus hat on. It makes every outfit a little more festive.

There’s something about a black-on-black outfit that never fails. Here I’m wearing the same sweater as the first outfit just in black! I told you that the 4 pack is incredibly versatile! With a pair of black leggings, you’ve created a sleek, monochrome base. From here, I’m dressing the outfit up with a pair of knee-high boots in the most beautiful stone color.
I popped on a corduroy shacket to match and am using a crossbody bag to accentuate the waist. I love this look for so many different occasions!

If you know me then you know a flannel layered over top an Express Body Contour tank top is about as “McKenzie” as it gets. I wear this combo nonstop and have a gazillion color variations of the same pieces. They are just that good. However, this flannel is definitely my most worn of them all. It has the perfect neutral color palette and is so soft. I wore it all the time last season.
Pop on a pair of cropped flare jeans and my go-to white sneakers and you’re good to go for an everyday class outfit. These sneakers are the Zinas from Dolce Vita and they are incredibly comfortable. With tons of support and a non-irritating material, they are the best for walking long distances.

I’ve been getting invites to brand events left and right these days. For these functions, I like to spice things up and wear something a little different. I figured these orange pants would fit the vibe perfectly! They are a light linen material with an elastic waistband that fits beautifully. However, their tapered fit makes them look more like dress pants. I’m dressing them up with a pair of white heels and a cute chain link bag! I’m obsessed.

This crossover sweater is such a unique piece. It’s a little shorter in the front so I figured a pair of high-rise, cropped flare jeans would work well with it. To keep things classy yet festive for the fall I’m popping on that same mule + felt hat duo that I love so much.

Like I said jeans and a sweater are my go-to for everyday wear. In an outfit like this, you’re dressed for just about every fall occasion that may be happening. This cable knit sweater is an awesome layering piece and is a little more oversized so you can easily layer with it. These Steve Madden Hutch booties are my new favorites—grab em while they are finally in stock.

I immediately think of a sweater dress when I think of Thanksgiving time. Friendsgiving gatherings will start happening soon and for this fall festivity I’d dress up a bit with a sweater dress and knee-high boots. I’m mixing black and brown this time around and am using a belt to help accentuate the waist!

I know I shared a brown leather coat earlier in this post but this one is different… I promise, lol. This time around I’ve got on a cropped leather jacket with wide sleeves and an adorable collar. There are gold buttons for closure and just a light lining. Think of this as less of a coat and more of a staple piece. With a Body Contour tank underneath this is perfect.
This time around I’ve got on a pair of straight-leg jeans from Express. I just got these and have already worn them a ton. They’ve got a relaxed fit throughout the legs but fit my waist + butt which is hard to come by. Plus, I can wear them with a heeled bootie for a little lift.

Layering up in all the comfy clothes for a weekend of errands is my jam. I always start in a basic long sleeve tee, pop on a hoodie, and then a puffer over top. This trio is unbeatable. My Spanx faux leather leggings also tend to come out a ton this time of year. They give a more elevated feel and suck you in at all the right places. For shoes, I’m popping on my favorite platform sneakers from Steve Madden.

When I think of a first date I think of a simple yet trendy outfit. Cropped flare jeans + short heels are a never-fail option that gives me my usual dose of confidence. I’m popping those on and then reaching for an adorable black puff sleeve top. This has a sweet tie detail along the center. While this is definitely a unique piece, its basic black tones it down a bit.

Off to get drinks with your girls? You can’t go wrong with a corset top. I’ve been seeing them everywhere recently. They give off the most effortless vibe + look so chic. I’ve tucked this brown satin one into a pair of straight-leg jeans and added brown heeled boots.
These have a black platform so I reached for a black purse to match. I’ve been trying to experiment with this color combo a bit more and am loving it!

undled up like this is how I’ve been attending every football game recently. It gets quite chilly here at night so a chunky turtleneck and an oversized puffer are a must. I tend to prefer leggings when bundling up because they are easy to layer. As silly as it sounds, I end up wearing two pairs quite often when heading to a sporting event. The Aerie crossovers are super easy to layer underneath another pair.
To keep my feet dry + warm these chunky combat boots will do just the trick. I love these new Franco Sarto boots.

I know this may seem a little chilly for the fall, but even here in Ohio, this is pretty typical to wear to the bars. Plus, my rule of thumb is you can always layer a leather jacket over top. These Express Body Contour bodysuits are fantastic and seamlessly tuck into any bottoms.
I’m wearing leather pants from Free People. These are some of my favorite bottoms to dress up and down—I wear them all the time. Because they are a cropped ankle length, they look fantastic with a heel! Add a cute purse to fit all the essentials.

Nothing beats a good pumpkin patch outfit! You can’t go wrong with a cute crop top and jeans. This top had such a unique cut-out—I couldn’t pass it up! Of course, I’ve got it on with my cropped flare jeans. I love the slight distressing of this pair. I’m mixing in another shade of brown with these mules and a matching felt hat. This one is from Lack of Colors and is another favorite.

Businesswear doesn’t have to be boring! If you’re headed into the office tuck a light ribbed sweater into a pair of black cropped flare pants. With layered gold jewels, hoops, and a classic ring belt this is an unbeatable combo. As for shoes, I’m slipping into black mules. These are my old faithfuls from Target but I’ve linked a similar pair! They are perfect for the office and leave me feeling so chic.

I’ve been on the hunt for a knit cropped sweater for ages now and finally found the one of my dreams—shoutout SheIn! It’s the perfect everyday neutral too which is a plus. Of course, I’ve popped this on with jeans and a pair of heeled booties as per usual. I’ve got that same Lulus hat on and am adding a cute brown purse to mix up the color palette.

I tend to lay low on the weekends so I frequently repeat this outfit combo. A flannel, leggings and Converse just never fail. I love adding these three-piece crossbody bags to finish off an outfit. I have them in every color but find myself reaching for the black one most often.
