There’s something about this time of year that makes me feel so nostalgic. Having a hard time wrapping my head around this being the last winter I spend in Kent, Ohio. I’m trying my best to soak in every second— making all the ice cream runs and watching all the Christmas movies with my roomies. I just love this home away from home.
November absolutely flew, however, I seem to say that every month… With 2021 just one month from its end I’m thrilled to have had a packed month of sorority events, blog milestones, and huge life changes. Cheers to new beginnings and hanging onto old ones. Let’s hop into all of this month’s favs.
November was a pretty casual month—I’ve been wearing yoga pants and my Aerie crossover leggings left and right because they are just so comfy. Speaking of yoga pants—them with a pair of mini Uggs and a hoodie has been my go-to for running errands + lounging around the house. It may not be the trendiest but it’s certainly comfortable which makes me wonder how we ever let this trend leave.
I’ve also been layering a ton as our apartment gets pretty chilly during the daytime. Whether it’s a hoodie, flannel, or shacket I seem to always have one or the other layered over top of a basic bodysuit or Express tank. As for shoes, my white platform high-tops from Steve Madden were by far my most worn. They are so comfortable and look good with absolutely everything—size up one.
I didn’t have nearly as many photoshoots this month as I would have liked… thankfully mid-month I took a content trip to Charleston, South Carolina, and was able to knock out twelve different outfits over the three-day trip. The above were some of my favorite fits of the month. I have loved these brown leather pants and flowy midi dresses were perfect for roaming the streets of Charleston. Oh, and of course this pink three-piece set deserves an honorable mention. I’m obsessed with the fit of this set and the color was absolutely everything!
Hoping to get back on my content grind this month—with the holidays right around the corner it’s time to start sharing Christmas + New Years’ outfits. Besides it being cold, this is one of my favorite times to shoot content, especially with all the cute decor hanging around town. Keep your eyes out!
Last month I got my first set of lash extensions from Get Pretty in Downtown Kent and I loved them. I didn’t get them filled, yet it took about seven weeks for them to all fallout. I wanted to give my lashes a break but plan on getting a fresh set before going home for winter break/embarking on my winter travels. I cannot recommend @lashously.living enough!
I have to say I was really looking forward to Adele’s new album and it wasn’t exactly what I had hoped for. I think the story 30 tells is beautiful but it’s not something I’ll be replaying often.
No TV has been watched this month but that’s because we’ve started up the terrible Hallmark movies in this household. There’s something I love so much about a predictable love story, lol. If you have any holiday favorites that you recommend, be sure to leave them below and we’ll add them to our growing list!

November was exactly what I’d hoped it would be—I hit two huge goals of mine; 40K on Tik Tok and 60K on YouTube. My roommates surprised me with flowers and cookie cake and we all got together to celebrate with one another. I’m so grateful for this mini tradition we’ve started and for getting to share these special moments with them.
I did in fact finalize my winter break travels, booking that Hawaii trip I’ve been manifesting for months now and a trip to Florida in December. I cannot wait to work with a few new resorts this holiday season—it’s crazy to think just six months ago I was working tirelessly to work with my first one. It goes to show hard work and consistency will truly take you anywhere you want to be.
Oh, and I did go ahead and shoot those six-year anniversary photos I was talking about. I won’t share them until the actual day, January 1, but just know they are some of my best photos yet.
I’ve reached just about every goal I set for myself in 2021 which feels… well, unreal to put it simply. This December I’m aiming to cast some 2022 collaborations + really sit down and think about the future of Styled by. With so many life changes happening next year, it’s time to start thinking about what’s changing and what’s staying the same for my corner of the internet. Plus, I’m *really* thinking about taking on an intern within the coming months and need to start drafting up that position.
As far as numbers go, I’m looking to hit 33K on Instagram and 45K on Tik Tok. Fingers crossed we can finish this year off on a good note! Either way, I’m so pleased with my growth this year and cannot express how grateful I am to have so many of you supporting me as I do.
This month was a whirlwind! Every single weekend there was something going on for Alpha Phi. We had date parties, chapter meetings, initiation, and more. Oh, and I became a “grandma” since my littles took littles! The rest of the weeks we’ve been taking things pretty easy, spending more time in the apartment than ever before.
After months of internship searching, applying, and interviewing, the stars finally aligned… Mid-month I accepted my dream internship with a company in California. I’m finalizing the paperwork before sharing which company it is with but I couldn’t be more excited for this new chapter and am so grateful for all of your well wishes.
As I said, I went to Charleston, South Carolina for a mini content weekend away and it was the best. I met up with my sweet friends Devon and Molly and we had the best time trying new restaurants, taking photos, and exploring the city. Plus, I was able to partner with the cutest Airbnb! I’m so grateful I’ve been able to travel so much this school year. I truly wouldn’t trade it for anything!
Last week I headed home for Thanksgiving break and some much-needed family time. It felt so good to relax a little and catch up with loved ones. It’s going to be a busy couple of weeks cranking out final projects and taking exams… luckily the finish line is near and I’ll be chilling on a beach so, so soon. Until then…
With love, McKenz
