With just under two months left here at Kent State, my college days are beginning to feel numbered. With that being said, my girls and I have been doing a lot of going out. Like… a lot. It seems like every day there’s a party, sorority event, date party, or darty to attend. I can hardly keep up with it all! As exhausting as it is, it’s been so much fun making memories with my friends.
Perhaps you’re in the same boat or are just starting college, navigating the world of bars + frat basements. Regardless, I’ve got you covered with ten different outfit ideas to wear while going out this season. Despite it being thirty degrees outside we keep things pretty cropped around here, I’m not going to lie.
I hope that this post gives you some inspo! If you enjoy it, be sure to let me know and I’ll try to put another one of these together once temperatures warm up a bit. Until then, let’s hop right in!
My go-to outfit, no matter the occasion is a black top, jeans, and a pair of shoes to match. Although it’s still chilly outside, we stick to crop tops year-round. This one is super tiny with the most adorable tie-details to wrap around the torso. This is such a good basic to keep in your closet as it can pair with literally everything.
However, I went for my favorite pair of straight-leg jeans. These are from Express and are by far my most worn bottoms. I wear them to class weekly, but they effortlessly transition into nightlife too. Popping on my go-to going out shoes—Converse. These are a no-brainer as they are super comfortable and upon getting dirty, can just be tossed into the washing machine.

If you’re headed to the bars as opposed to a frat basement then perhaps step it up a notch. Black leather pants are an absolute must. I love these ones from the SheIn Basics collection. I have them in a few different colors and they are amazing. true to size and also offered in petites.
Wearing another mini crop top with them; this one has mesh sleeves! I’m slipping into black sock booties to give me a little bit of height. It’s funny because I never wear sock booties unless I’m going out. They are my go-to when I’m looking to dress an outfit up as they are super sleek and an easier heel to walk in.
I have this twist front crop top in a few different colors and it’s the cutest! I love this bright pink for a fun pop of color as we ease into spring. Toss it on with straight leg jeans and a pair of sneaks for a casual Friday and you’re good to go.
As much as I do love wearing black, I try to spice things up every now and then. When it’s colder outside (I’m talking snowing) and no jacket just isn’t an option, I’ll reach for one of these shackets. I have a few of them and wear them all the time. Not to mention, my roomies are always coming to steal them too. This chocolate brown one is the perfect amount of oversized so you can layer underneath too!
I’m wearing the most amazing white long sleeve from Oh Polly. Such a great basic that can be worn for any occasion. As for the rest of the fit, I’m going for another pair of straight-leg jeans and a nude sock bootie to finish it off. I have tons of these mini purses too which are great for keeping a lip gloss, your ID, and your phone!

I just got these sparkle side jeans and I’m obsessed. I’m all for the wide-leg styles right now and these are so fricking fun. They speak for themselves so I’m keeping the rest of the outfit simple with a black long sleeve, grommet top, and a pair of black sock booties. I’m obsessed!
When in doubt, reach for all black! I’m a sucker for monochrome and this look is no exception. I love a plunging top, there’s no secret about it. This one is reversible so you can wear it either on the white or black side depending on your mood! I opted for black and popped on a pair of black ripped jeans. I wear these out almost every single weekend as they never fail me.
If you’re headed to the bar throw on boots, if you’re off to the frats go for sneakers. Add a little bit of warmth and a fun pop of color with a bright blue leather shacket! I love this one.

That Urban Outfitter’s corset you’ve been seeing all over your Tik Tok? This is the SheIn dupe for it and it’s so good. It’s got grommets all along the front, sucking you in at all the right places. They give your boobs the perfect lift; however, if you’re in between sizes I’d definitely recommend going up.
Here are those same jeans from the first look. I’m telling you, I wear these nonstop and hope Express restocks them soon. This black purse comes out with me pretty much every weekend too.

One-shoulder tops were my jam freshman year. I have this ruched one in a bright orange too and absolutely love it. It comes in a dozen colors so I grabbed it in the blue for the spring! Keeping things basic along the bottom. You should know by now, lol.
Calling all frat rats—can’t say no to the Kappa Sigma basement on a Thursday night, lol. A fun cut-out tank top is just what the doctor ordered. This one has a super unique fit that looks adorable with a pair of wide-leg jeans. I just grabbed these from Express and they have the perfect amount of distressing. Of course, I’m reaching for my go-to frat shoes—good ole Converse!
On Saturdays we like to dress up a little extra; perhaps as a reward for making it to the weekend. In this case, I almost always reach for a black bodysuit. I like one with a plunging neckline or something with bustier cups like this lace one I have on here. They are a little scandalous on their own so I always throw something over top. I’ve never been much of a leather jacket kind of girl, but this shacket has the best fit so it’s my preferred alternative.
Pop on my go-to bottom half—jeans, sock booties, and a chain link bag and you’ll look like a million bucks in no time!
