I’ve always loved sharing occasion wear here on my website. Years ago, prom season was my favorite time of year because it meant collecting pretty dresses to share with my followers.
That season of life has since passed and I seem to be at the age, as do many of you, where your dress shopping has transitioned from school dance to wedding guest. With wedding season being right around the corner, so many of you have been sliding into my DMs asking for dress ideas. I myself have a wedding on the horizon and have already begun looking for dresses. Needless to say, I’ve got you covered.
I do plan on sharing several different installments to this wedding guest series over the next few months but for now, enjoy these five styles that are perfect for your next spring wedding.

One of my favorite retailers to look for occasionwear is Petal and Pup! They have so many dresses on their site, including a whole category dedicated to wedding guest dresses. I picked up this pale yellow now thinking it’d be perfect for the springtime.
It’s the perfect dress for a wedding with an “in-between” dress code as it’s not too fancy. However, the silk fabric and midi length keep it from being too casual. It comes in several different colors so you have plenty of options. Use code MCKENZIE for 20% off your entire order.
I attended a wedding back in August and wore this exact dress in the lace version. So many of you asked questions about it but unfortunately, it was sold out. When I saw that Lulus released the same dress in a solid version, I knew I needed to grab it. This has to be one of the most flattering necklines—it’s a bit lower than your average cut but not quite plunging making your boobs look extra perky.
The bust gives way to several tiered layers that are so fun. This comes in a few different colors but I couldn’t resist the summer staple navy. As for shoes, I’m wearing a pair of Paily heels from Dolce Vita. I have these in four different colors now and they are hands down the most comfortable shoes I own. If you’re going to be on your feet for hours on end—I cannot recommend these enough.
Headed to a black-tie wedding? Lulus has so many different styles right now that work for the dress code. I especially loved this navy maxi from them. It’s got a plunging neckline and a high slit along the right-hand side. Their styles are so timeless and can easily be reworn, especially as bridesmaid dresses!
They do run a little long so if you want to skip out on tailoring, I definitely recommend a pair of heels. I have these lace-up heels in two different colors and they are some of my favorites. Super comfortable and unlike some of my other lace-up shoes, stay in place all night.
I sure do love a little bit of lace. This mermaid dress caught my eye with its navy lace and nude underlay. I don’t have any dresses this style but figured it’d work perfectly for a summer cocktail attire wedding. This style ran a bit larger than most Lulus pieces so I suggest going down. For shoes, I reached for my usual nude block heels. Of course, I’m popping on a simple crossbody to match.
Silk midi dresses are all the rage right now. I’m pretty sure any wedding you go to this season, you’ll catch at least one girl wearing something similar. I couldn’t resist the color of this one-shoulder midi! This burnt orange just screams late summer.
This style is a bit more form-fitting throughout the hips so if you’re in between sizes I would suggest going up. Pop on a pair of those Dolce Vita heels and a pair of statement earrings to match and you’re good to go!
