In just one week I’ll be off to California for my summer internship. If you’ve been keeping up with me on YouTube and Instagram then you’d know I’m moving in with two content creators in the Beverly Hills area. I truly could not be more excited to begin this new season of life.
I also feel incredibly grateful to be staying in an area that’s already familiar to me. I’ve stayed with my girlfriends three separate times now and have loved getting to explore new areas. The last I visited was in March and between all of the travel guides and end-of-the-year festivities I never got around to sharing the last batch of photos I shot throughout this trip.
I figured now would be the perfect time to do so. One of my favorite things about being in this area is that I have all the reasons to pull out my statement pieces. 9 am walking down the sidewalk in a bright pink blazer? Nobody even bats an eye there! It’s the coolest thing getting to embrace some of my funky wardrobe contents. Enjoy this fun dump of outfits!

Truly one of my favorite outfits I’ve ever styled on my website is this one right here. This was my first time trying out Pepper Mayo clothes and I was blown away by the quality. This Australian boutique has the cutest pieces in all kinds of funky prints and bright colors. This pleated two-piece set was calling my name!
The top and bottoms are actually sold separately so if you need a different size in the top and bottom you’re in luck. I’m wearing a 2 in both.
While you could totally leave this top buttoned up, it was giving me chic grandma pajama vibes so I decided I needed to leave it open. I layered a white lace bralette underneath for a fun pop. You see this styling everywhere here in California so I was more than excited to join the masses.
I love this bright color palette and decided to pull out the orange in this set by adding a pair of chunky heels and a micro bag to match. This is truly the cutest look!

So many of the pieces hanging in my closet look like Polly Pocket clothes, lol. I sure do love a puff-sleeve dress. This one reminds me of the popular brand, Selkie with its puff sleeves and tulle skirt. It’s got an a-line fit that’s adorable for twirling!
This dress had a light floral and similar to the last look, I felt called to pull out one of the colors to make a statement. This time around I went for a pair of super-tall platform heels. I’ve been seeing this style everywhere recently and while they are anything but practical, they have an incredible way of elongating + slimming the legs.
Of course, I had to pull out the matching mini green purse to match. I’m in love.
One of my favorite things about Los Angeles is walking to coffee at 10 am in an oversized button-up and cowgirl boots and *not* sticking out like a sore thumb. I’ve always loved dressing up, and styling “out there” pieces but it’s been hard when surrounded by so much normalcy in college. For that reason, I’m pumped to be living in California.
This button-up has huge balloon sleeves and a dolphin hem. Definitely on the shorter side so if you’re not petite, I’d definitely skip out on this one!
Of course, no outfit post of mine is truly complete without a pair of cowgirl boots. I just got these from Jeffery Cambell and am truly obsessed. They are so comfortable and look amazing with so many different outfits.
You’ll see me on these palm-tree-lined streets a ton this summer, I can promise you that! I sure do love a statement dress and picked this white tulle one up months ago. I’ve been saving it for some fun photos and figured this photo op was a perfect time. This dress has a ton of crinoline throughout the skirt to help keep its shape.
The entire bust of this dress self ties so you’ve got long tulle strands hanging that look so cute when blowing in the wind!
As for shoes, you know I had to go for a monochrome moment. I certainly couldn’t pass up these white bow-back heels to match. If you’re a bride-to-be, you need to check out this killer combo!
Everyone and their mother seem to be on the hunt right now for a good white dress. I’ve been picking up tons as I myself am graduating soon too! This white linen maxi has been one of my favorites. I scored this from Petal & Pup, one of my favorite retailers to pick up occasion wear from. They have so many unique styles and their quality is incredible.
This dress has a rather timeless silouette, accompanied by trendy puff sleeves and an open back. The sizing is a little snug so if you’re in between, definitely go up. For reference, I’m in a size 2.
I actually wore this to an event while I was in town that had a beachier feel to it. For that reason, I popped on a pair of straw heels from Dolce Vita and an adorable straw tote to match. it was the perfect combo!
Nothing makes me feel more badass than a good ole matching blazer and suit pants. I had picked this hot pink one up from SheIn for spring New York Fashion Week but ended up canceling last minute. Of course, this outfit still needed its time to shine so I brought it with me on my trip to California.
The quality of these pieces is amazing. They were made so well and are a thick, velvet material that looks extra fancy. If you’re needing a #girlboss kind of outfit, look no further.
While yes, you could totally wear this with a white button-up underneath for a polished, professional moment, I figured I’d keep things LA-esque. I left this unbuttoned with that same white lace bralette underneath. Naturally, I also had to add heels and a mini shoulder bag to match.

On the list for summer dresses have been ones that will work for church too! I thought this bright colorful maxi would definitely be appropriate. It’s got a high neckline and is floor-length, so a bit more conservative.
I’ve been loving the orange and pink combo this season and naturally decided to pull the color out to elevate the outfit. This is one of my favorite styling tips and, as you can tell, it never fails! I’m popping on heeled mules and a cute crossbody to match. Definitely a Sunday best moment!
I also found some super cute pieces from Buddy Love– they’ve got tons of statement dresses that are perfect for these summer months.
Not only do I love the fashion but would you look at that scenery?! There are so many amazing locations to snap photos around the Beverly Hills neighborhoods. I cannot wait to call this place home for a few months and step out of my creative comfort zone. Until then, it’s time to pack up and enjoy these few days at home. Stay tuned for more excitement coming so soon…
With love, McKenz
