Over the years thousands of you have turned to me for my trustworthy, honest swimsuit reviews. I’ve shared styles from various brands, ranging in all styles and price points. Recently, I’ve been getting several requests to share affordable options from retailers that offer both in-store and online options, like Walmart.
Coincidentally, they just released a new collection called Love & Sports designed by popular partners Stacey Griffith and Michelle Smith. This exclusive collection offers a variety of swim and activewear pieces. Unlike other retailers, these pieces are sold separately allowing you to purchase separate sizes and colors if desired. I picked up a few pieces of suits + sporty sets myself and am giving you the full scoop on this new collection below. #walmartpartner
I’ve tried on thousands of swimsuits over the years so by now I know exactly what I’m looking for. I prefer a swimsuit that’s double-lined however it’s hard to come by with more affordable options. To my surprise, all of the pieces from this collection were a soft velvet-like material along the exterior. This bit of texture adds an unexpected touch that I don’t often see in suits!
This suit was by far my favorite of the bunch. The top has a knot-front detail that flatters the chest without being too revealing. There are thin adjustable straps however, unlike most suits, there are no clasps along this one.
This is my preferred style if I plan on being in the water all day as there’s no chance of it falling off. For the bottoms, I went for a solid hipster style. These have an adequate amount of overage along the front and the back. Overall a family-friendly approved suit that’s still stylish!
Of course, I had to get my hands on a neon option for the summer. I always love wearing something a little brighter to make my tan pop even more. Triangle suits are by far my favorite as they flatter the chest unlike anything else.
Of course, these do self tie along the neck and bust, catering towards every chest size. As for the bottoms, these are your classic string bottoms that were oh so popular in the early 2000s. They are making a major comeback this season as we see that revival in full effect. These sit a bit lower on the hips and similar to the last pair, offer full coverage along the tush.
There was one other top available for pre-order so naturally, I got my hands on it right away. This top has a unique cut with a halter neckline and an adorable cut-out along the center that gives way for a little cleavage. I grabbed this in the stark gray however three other color options were available. Just like the last suit, I picked up string bottoms to match. However, there were other styles available in the gray as well if you were wanting to mix and match.
Like I said, this collection also launched with several activewear pieces as well. There was spandex, sports bras, leggings, and even workout jackets available! I picked up a few pieces that caught my eye and figured I’d put those to the test as well.
The first pieces I got were from the seamless line, available in three different colors. While I love the bright pops of color for the summertime, I know I reach for black most frequently so I grabbed the sports bra and 3-inch biker shorts. I’m wearing an XS and both fit me beautifully. Perfect for my next workout, or with a tee-shirt over top for a day of lounging around the house.

I couldn’t keep my hands off of a matching set! I’ve always loved white workout wear but it can be a bit tricky with transparency. Luckily this bra was double-lined and had removable padding so no see-through worries here.
The leggings on the other hand were a little thinner. While they weren’t necessarily see-through they weren’t as forgiving throughout the panty line. I’m still loving the pops of neon and look forward to sporting this duo for some low-intensity movement like my morning hot girl walks!
Of course, no exercise dress I see can go surpassed. I picked up this one in a heartbeat and was pleasantly surprised to see it was a toweling material. This is expected to be a very popular fabric this season thanks to its absorbent qualities. Unlike most exercise dresses, this one does not have shorts built-in underneath, so I would reserve this for your typical athleisurewear errands and walks, not your next trip to the gym.
I do want to note that this piece ran much larger than others from this collection. I’m wearing an XS and still had lots of wiggle room. Size down!
I’m so pleased I was finally able to get my hands on some stylish, affordable suits from Walmart. And am just as happy to have been able to try their activewear as well. I highly recommend checking out the new Love & Sports collection. It has limited availability so shop now. I’ve gone ahead and linked everything to make your shopping experience as seamless as possible.
If there are any other swimwear brands you’d like to see me share, be sure to leave them down below so I can add them to my ever-growing list. I hope you enjoyed it. Talk soon!
With love, McKenz
