Wedding season is officially here and with so many of my viewers attending one this summer, I figured it was only right to sit down and share another batch of dresses with you! Petal & Pup is one of my favorite places to shop for occasionwear and I’ve chosen eight new dresses. If you’re looking to purchase any of these styles (or one of their other wedding guest options) be sure to use my code MCKENZ20 for 20% off.
If you’re off to a wedding with a “cocktail” dress code, a midi dress is right up your alley. This one has a gorgeous twist front, with thicker straps that cover the shoulders. There’s just a small slit along the right-hand side of this, so it looks best with heels that have an ankle strap. This will lengthen the legs in no time! This hunter green is super popular this season and looks amazing on so many skin tones.
This dress is perfect for a formal or “black tie optional” dress code as it’s a little bit longer, hitting just at the ankles. I love how form-fitting this is, flattering the bust while sinching the waist. The back has an amazing cut-out with a gorgeous cowl detail. For this length dress, I find a slip-on heel to be best.
I’m wearing the Dolce Vita Paily heels. I have these in a few colors but love the way the gold metallic matches my everyday jewlery. These are the best shoes if you’re planning on breaking it down on the dance floor—so comfortable!
A silk midi slip dress with a cowl neckline has been the wedding guest dress for a few seasons now and it doesn’t seem to be going anywhere anytime soon. If you can’t beat ’em, you might as well join them. This is a timeless style that you’ll be able to wear for years to come. This comes in several different colors; I’m wearing the gold here!
Despite it being summertime, I truly feel you can never go wrong with a black dress. This one is lightweight linen so if you’re sitting outside for the ceremony, this will keep you nice and cool. I love this ruffled off-the-shoulder neckline. So flattering, especially with a few layered necklaces.
You could totally spice this up with a pair of statement heels + a bag to match, but I’m taking the simple route and reaching for the basics.
This burnt orange is forecasted to be one of the trendiest colors of the season. It makes that late summer tan pop big time! I had to pick a dress up in this gorgeous hue. This time around I went for a short dress. This one has an adorable high neckline with big, bishop sleeves that sinch around the wrists.
It’s got an a-line skirt with a little ruffle along the bottom. It runs a bit bigger than some of the other styles. I’m wearing a 2 in everything, but definitely recommend going down in this specific style. This looks amazing with an up-do!
Little black dress season truly never leaves. If you’re looking for a good ole mini dress, I’m loving this strapless style. It has the cutest twist along the front and is perfect for a casual ceremony.
Of course, no McKenzie blog post would be complete without a good ole pair of lace-up heels. I just scored these chunkers from SheIn and I’ve been loving them. I’ve worn them going out a few times and have found them to be surprisingly very comfortable. And they make your legs look super long; big fan!
Another silk midi dress..l this one has that same tried and true neckline but it’s got a slit along one side to make walking a little bit easier. This is another style that comes in several different colors but I was drawn to the navy which makes a comeback every summer.
Tiered ruffles are my jam! I love everything about this look—from the high neckline to the tapered waist, to the ankle cut. It looks amazing with a pair of braided heels. Of course, I’ve got on my same little nude bag. I’ve been carrying this to dressier events for ages now and truly never get tired of it. So chic and the perfect size for all of the essentials!
pin this post for later
Do you have a wedding on the calendar for this season? If so, let me know. I’ve got a black-tie wedding in July and I’m still on the hunt for the perfect gown. Stay tuned, I’m sure I’ll be sharing more wedding guest options over the next few months.
With love, McKenz
