I’ve been seeing Selkie dresses everywhere lately! This popular designer exploded years ago thanks to her poofy tulle dresses. There is something about this style that just takes me right back to my days of playing dress-up in the basement as a kid! I’m obsessed and it seems like so is everyone else!
These dresses are incredibly expensive and while they are amazing quality, I’ve seen several retailers release similar, more affordable pieces. I picked a few up and am putting them to the test today, sharing three different styles and three different ways to wear them this summer!
Rodeo Drive is just a short walk away from my home in Beverly Hills and it’s one of our favorite spots to hit up on the weekends. There’s something about it that’s so fun. Plus, it’s the perfect excuse to dress up. Anything goes here, to say the least.
This is the first Selkie-inspired dupe I picked up and it’s definitely the best one! The dress itself is double lined with a thick fabric that’s super opaque. This material has a lot of structure to it so it really keeps its shape. This fits perfectly along the back with a zippered closure. I paired this with some new Steve Madden platforms. I got these a few weeks ago and have been wearing them a ton.

When I saw this dress in yellow I knew I had to grab it. There is nothing I love more than this color, especially in the summertime. I mean come on, from the puff sleeves to the baby doll her to the floral trim could this be any cuter?! This one has an adorable tie-back as well.
Something about this screamed Miley Stewart summer to me so I popped in on with a trusty ole pair of white cow girl boots. I got these months ago and have been loving them ever since! So cute with this dress + perfect for a day in Malibu.

They also have a few patterned versions of this dress so of course, I had to grab one of those too. This one is a bit thinner in feel and definitely has a cheaper look to it. It runs shorter than the rest too so if you’re on the taller side, which I am not, then I would suggest skipping out on this one.
This dress had a mix of colors in it- pink, purple, and green. I decided to go for a color-blocked moment, pulling the green out with a chunky silk platform and a micro purse to match. How cute is this?! I love this combination for one of my upcoming events.

There’s nothing better than getting to play dress-up…. Even at the age of 21! I’m so glad I was able to get my hands on some of these dresses. They’ve been so much fun to style! Have you tried these dresses yet?! If so, tag me in your Instagram photos. I’d love to score even more outfit inspiration from you all!
With love, McKenz
