“What am I supposed to wear during sorority recruitment?” is one of the questions I get asked most frequently across my platforms. Lucky for you, this week I’ve put together my “What to Wear” for sorority recruitment series, giving you thirty outfit ideas for your rush week.
On Wednesday I shared 10 outfits for Open House round and yesterday I shared 10 outfits for Sisterhood round. Today, we’re wrapping up the series with 10 outfits for Preference round also known as the final round of recruitment. During this round, you will meet with your top sororities and be shown a glimpse into their philanthropy + sacred ceremonies. It is a very special day and one where you will hopefully be given a sign that you’ve “found your home”.
As you know, each day the rounds get a bit dressier with Preference being the fanciest of them all. Most girls will be wearing a dress and heels this day however, rompers, jumpsuits, sets, and skirts are still allowed if that’s what you feel more comfortable in. I encourage you to put your best foot forward this day as it is the last time you will see the sorority before they make their final decision, and you yours.
I’ve seen this maxi dress all over Tik Tok recently and finally got my hands on it. This is so similar to the viral Zara dress that everyone has been talking about. It’s got a super flattering neckline and a fun cut-out along the back. It hits right at the ankles so a backless heel was a must. These are the Paley’s from Dolce Vita aka my most worn heels. They are great if you’re planning on being on your feet for long amounts of time.

Nothing beats a good ole pair of chunky heels for a special occasion. I call these my Polly Pocket shoes because they make me feel so darn cute. I have them in several different colors although these bubblegum pink ones happen to be my most worn. Although they are tall, they have a thick platform that makes them very easy to walk in.
As for this dress, it’s a new fav from Showpo! I cannot wait to bring this with me to Europe—I already know it’s going to be a hit. Most chapters recruiting will be wearing white during this round, so you’ll already look like you belong.

I picked this dress up for a wedding I have coming up but knew it’d double up as the perfect Preference round dress. A lot of fo people go the neutral route this round which is why going for something bright and floral is a cool idea. You’ll stand out in the best way! This dress has a deeper neckline, belle sleeves, and tiered ruffles. All of my favorite things! Adding a basic heel and purse to match.

A sweet ruffled moment is perfect for the last round of recruitment. This one-shoulder dress falls at the perfect length and can easily be dressed down for another occasion. I’m keeping things simple with a nude block heel and a chain-link purse to match. So cute!

This material is so popular right now and I can’t seem to stop buying it! It’s a little smaller than pleats but it’s more than just regular fabric. I personally love the texture it brings to an outfit, especially with this strappy neck detail. So fun! Going for an easy breezy white block heel and a micro purse to match.

I know at some schools, little black dresses are mandatory during Preference round. If that’s the case for you, I highly recommend this midi. It’s giving me major The Devil Wears Prada vibes with its form sitting silhouette and strapless neckline. This really sculpts your figure, accentuating every curve. With just a basic pair of block heels and a purse, you’re good to go. This outfit is especially great because it can be worn time and time again.

Now is the time to wear a bright pop of color. I incorporated yellow accents into my Preference round outfit and it scored me tons of compliments throughout the final rounds. I thought this maxi was just the cutest. The twist front neckline adds a unique touch and this style is available in a gazillion colors so if yellow isn’t your vibe, you’ve got plenty to choose from.

Preference round is the time to give it your all, to really stand out. What better way to do that than with a gigantic bow strapped across your chest, lol?! I think this mini dress is just the sweetest thing ever. With a pair of strappy pink block heels, you’ve got a major Elle Woods moment going on. I’m obsessed and will be wearing this every chance I get.

By now you guys know how much I love these Selkie dupes. By no means are they as good of quality as the $300 ones, but they are a great alternative if you’re wanting something similar. These take me right back to my dress-up days—so cute! Sadly, these do run rather short so if you’re on the taller side, you’re going to want to skip out on this one.

This tan dress is so simple and yet something about it feels so right for this occasion. Although this is a shift dress, it doesn’t swallow your body the way most do; I think this is in part due to the twisted neckline. You could definitely spice this up with a pop of color heel, but I went for something a bit more muted this time around.
