Weekly Wrap Up #36 2022

Oh how the days are flying more than usual here in Florence, Italy! This was my second full week of class, third full week living in Europe and I’m finally getting the hang of things. The culture shock has slowed down a bit and I’m falling back into my usual school routine.

Well, as close to “usual” as it gets between all of the travel fun! On Sunday we day tripped to Cinque Terre and then to Croatia this weekend. It was so much fun getting to experience a new country with my best friends! I’ll share all the details of that trip later this week. Until then, enjoy this mini week in my life!

WHAT’S HAPPENING THIS WEEK

Sunday, September 4

The girls and I were off to the train station bright and early at 9 am. We booked a day trip to Cinque Terre through Bus2Alps and spent the day exploring three different costal beach towns + swimming in the most beautiful water. It was so fun getting to see a new area of Italy. I shared a whole recap of our day here if you want to catch the whole scoop.

Monday, September 5

Off to the school for a full day of class. As soon as we were done, Olivia and I went and got gelato as an after-school snack. We spent our Monday night at a free food tour with Smart Trips, stopping around different restaurants in Florence and meeting all kinds of new faces. So fun!

Tuesday, September 6

Another busy day of class. I ended up staying on campus during my long lunch break to get some school work + videos edited. We cooked dinner at home but ended up heading out for a drink. Anything to get out of the house for a bit!

Wednesday, September 7

I can’t lie, one of the biggest adjustments to living in Italy is going to in-person class every single day! Three classes today followed by some styledby work. The girls and I got dressed and went out for a fun night at Lions and Red Garter our favorite karaoke spot. We have a blast here and have started making Wednesdays our going-out night!

Thursday, September 8

For class today we went to Stefano Ferragamo’s shoe factory across the river to learn how custom shoes and some of the finest leather in the world are made. We grabbed Pino’s mid-day then headed back to the apartment to pack. We’re off to Croatia tonight with Bus2Alps.

Friday, September 9

Woke up in Croatia this morning! After checking into our hostel we put swimsuits on and headed over to the beach to soak up the sun. We got to spend several hours just laying out, soaking up the sun. After our skin was parched we headed back, showered, got ready, and then went out for a nice dinner along the water. We did some exploring downtown then called it a night!

Saturday, September 10

Up bright and early this morning to get on our private boat tour. We got to tour the Blue Lagoons and another small island in Croatia, stopping to eat, swim, and drink. We had a blast! I’m so glad we were able to check off our first weekend trip together!
