This was the first week since living abroad that I finally felt ~in my element~. Honestly, I feel a little guilty saying that as I’ve officially lived here for a month but hey, good things take time, and moving to a new country is certainly a big change. Finally getting the hang of the school/work/travel balance and even had the chance to catch up with so many peeps from home this week!
We spent the weekend on an incredible trip to the Amalfi Coast that was truly full of so many *pinch me* moments. I cannot wait to share my travel and outfit guides from this trip later this week; in the meantime, enjoy this little look into the BEST week here in Italy!
It’s really started to set in how lucky I am to be here, experiencing this once-in-a-lifetime semester. Grateful for this opportunity and to be sharing it with you guys! Oh, and yes, it’s still been very warm here. It’s about seventy-five and sunny each day hence all of the dresses and sandals still. I miss all of the fall festivities that happen in America but I can’t lie, there’s nothing I love more than hanging onto summer just a little while longer. Enjoy!
With love, McKenz

As you know I’ve switched up the vlogging schedule this semester. Rather than sharing my week in my life vlogs on Sundays, I’ve switched both vlogs and Weekly Wrap Up’s to go live on Mondays to better fit my travel schedule!
I’ve also begun splitting up my school weeks and travels to give you double the videos and a little more separation. Enjoy + hit the subscribe content for more study abroad content!

After a full day at Oktoberfest, we hopped on the bus and made the ten-hour ride back to Florence. We arrived bright and early at 7:00 am Sunday morning and it’s safe to say we walked straight home, showered, and hopped in bed for a day full of resting + recovering. I got myself out of bed and made my way to the grocery store, cooked dinner at home, and started editing this week’s YouTube videos. Success!

Getting back into the swing of things with our first normal school week in a while! I had three classes today and spent my lunch break catching up on laundry, grocery shopping, and clearing out my inbox. Liv and I stopped at our favorite gelato place after class for a sweet treat!

After a busy morning at the fashion school, I spent my afternoon shooting a few looks + filming some Tik Toks for upcoming brand deals. It was a chill evening at our apartment so I spent my night calling a few friends to catch up while roaming the streets of Florence. Felt so good to hear from home!

Today was my roommate Lauren’s 22nd birthday so after class Olivia and I ran to a bakery down the street to get her a sweet treat. We took her out to a local Mexican place per her request, and Tijuana did not disappoint. I got their California street tacos and a big $5 frozen strawberry margarita and it was amazing! We will definitely be coming back soon. We ended up going out to Lions and Red Garter, our favorite karaoke bar to celebrate our girl. Such a fun day!

Our Italian Fashion & Culture class went to the Ferragamo Museum today and it was so cool. This year they currently have an installation done by his wife showcasing how woman’s roles have changed over the last century. It was really cool to see so many original pieces from this time period— groceries, newspaper articles, shoes, garments, and more. After class we came home, packed, got ready, and walked over to the bus station to leave for our weekend on the Amalfi Coast.

Woke up In Sorrento, Italy this morning. Got dressed and hopped on a boat with the girls. We spent the first half of the day cruising along the Amalfi Coast, stopping to see the amazing blue grotto. By one we made it to Capri where we spent the afternoon eating lunch, buying handmade leather sandals, and riding the chair lift up to the highest point of the island. The view was absolutely incredible and I had so many pinch-me moments here. Truly one of my favorite days EVER! I feel so blessed.

Today we took a ferry over to Positano where we had the full day to ourselves. We took some amazing photos and found the cutest lunch spot ever. I had the most amazing lemon shrimp risotto and was having all the “I’m so lucky” feels. We shopped around, ate gelato out of a lemon, and spent the afternoon swimming! It was the perfect day, to say the least.
