My world tour continues and this week I’m in Mykonos, Greece having my Mama Mia moment! While I would have loved to have a Donna and the Dynamos moment when it came to my outfits, it’s safe to say tiered flare pants and a sparkly top wasn’t exactly the dress code, lol.
After securing Pinterest for hours beforehand, I was a little torn on what to pack—all of the looks I was seeing were mini dresses and swimsuits. Despite it being early October and temperatures reading seventy-two degrees and windy, I packed the same things and hoped for the best. Admittedly, I think I was pretty spot on this trip!
It’s incredibly windy in the evenings by the water and according to the locals, this is the case all year round. For that reason, I highly recommend packing some type of wrap/shawl to keep in your bag and throw on as needed. I have the 3 Yard Wrap from Bleusalt in the color unbleached and bring it on every trip.
It works as a blanket on the plane, as a cute coverup with a dress, and as a throw on the beach. I don’t photograph this often but boy was it a lifesaver for this trip—I highly recommend this brand as their wraps are made of a type of cashmere so you’re always “just the right” temperature. Big fan!
Anywho, here are nine outfit ideas to wear in Mykonos, Greece this October with links to shop AND directions to some of the most Instagrammable spots on the island. Enjoy!
Oh Polly recently launched a collection that was full of pieces perfect for a trip to Greece. I couldn’t resist getting this blue two-piece set. It has a different cut than anything I’ve ever owned but I loved it! The long sleeves and cascading ruffle down the center were truly the prettiest touches. Plus, I was shocked to learn how much I loved the matching low-rise skirt.
Despite being unique, I knew I loved this and was so excited to hear on Instagram that so many of you did too. I finished off the outfit with my favorite gold lace-up sandals. I’ve had an Express pair that I’ve worn and loved for years and finally replaced them with these handmade cuties! I got them from @handmadecapri in Capri, Italy, and couldn’t love them more. Truly a priceless purchase.

To be honest, when packing for my study abroad adventure I really didn’t think I’d be needing a swimsuit all that often. Here I am, six weeks in and I’ve worn one practically every single weekend. It’s safe to say I’ve collected a few more since the initial two that I brought with me.
This one is a super cute two-toned teal suit from Zaful. The top self ties around the neck and bust and has an incredibly flattering cut. The bottoms are your typical string style that I love so much. Big fan of this! Of course, throwing on my favorite beach accessories to go with them.

Jules and I were strolling the streets of Little Venice one day when we stumbled into a cute linen shop and discovered these dresses. They were designed by a Mykonian designer who creates her own fabric by hand. We had to have them and naturally walked out with matching ones. I love this piece because it can be worn as a dress or as a maxi skirt and has the word “Mykonos” stitched along the side.
Truly a one of a kind piece. Styled with my gold sandals, I felt so authentic in this. That’s what travel purchases are all about, right?! Highly recommend packing a claw clip (or two) for your time here as well, as it’s so windy you’ll want your hair up more than you think!

I’m sure it comes as no surprise to see me in another swimsuit! This one is from Cupshe and is so different from all of the other suits in my collection. With a strappy top that warps around the torso, a geometric center, and a bright mix of colors this was the perfect suit for Mykonos. The UV only gets to 6 this time of year so now is the time to bring out some of your swimsuits that leave “impractical” tan lines!

I highly recommend packing more maxi dresses for your trip to Greece, especially if you’re coming closer to the fall time. Not only will they keep you a little warmer thanks to the length, but it’s also helpful to have something longer so that the wind doesn’t keep blowing up your skirt. Believe me, I had this problem quite a bit with some of my shorter, flowier pieces, haha.
I absolutely loved this white maxi. It has an incredibly flattering cut with a tie-front detail along the bust. With my lace-up sandals, I got so many compliments on this, saying I looked just like a greek goddess. Hey, I’ll take it!

As I said, Oh Polly had some incredible pieces from their new collection. This mini bodycon dress was another piece I picked out specifically for this trip. I was planning on wearing this out for a fun night of clubbing but with it being the end of tourist season, the going-out scene was so dead that we didn’t end up going!
Luckily, I did still get the chance to snap a photo in it. If you’re going to the island with the intent of partying, this would truly be the perfect piece. Oh, and skip the heels. It’s all cobblestones + stairs around here so sandals will do!

Enjoying dinner and drinks our last night in the cutest satin slip dress from Beginning Boutique, This is the perfect dupe for the viral Zara Tik Tok dress. It’s got an adorable neckline and a gromet-lined back. Such a classic piece that can be worn time and time again. If you’re a bride-to-be and on the hunt for an elegant white dress, don’t skip out on this one!

Our hotel had breakfast included with our stay and it was amazing. I had an omelet and fresh fruit almost every day accompanied by this incredible view. I woke up and threw this combo on almost every morning—this little white cardigan is from (shockingly) Walmart and always scores me lots of compliments.
I almost didn’t bring these white linen pants and am so glad I threw them into my suitcase last minute. I wore them literally every single day—slipped them on for breakfast, over top of my swimsuit, and even on the plane ride home. I’ve had them for over a year now and they are still kicking it!
It’s hard to find white linen bottoms that aren’t see-through— these are from Petal and Pup and they’ve truly never let me down. Two thumbs up!

Grabbed dinner and drinks right around our hotel in this adorable Princess Polly dress. My roommate Jules got this dress while we were living in California together and I loved it so much that I had to pick it up for myself. It’s got mesh long sleeves and adorable bustier cups. I know many of you are in the market for a little white dress—this one could easily be dressed up or down!
To tie the look together, I threw on my gold lace-ups and layered on a few turquoise necklaces. I get questions on this necklace combo all time—I actually didn’t buy them in Europe but from one of my favorite jewelry companies Electric Picks. They are gold-palted and I ended up wearing them for the rest of our trip because they are just that cute!

Phew, what a trip! Although Mykonos was incredibly dead during our visit (the entire island pretty much shuts down tourism between late October-early May)it was also so relaxing. Plus, I could never complain about a little extra time in the sun! If you’re off to the island soon, I hope that you have an incredible time.
Hopefully, this post gave you some Mykonos outfit inspiration. If you recreate any of these outfits be sure to tag me on Instagram @styledbymckenz. Be back soon with another outfit guide coming your way. Until then…
With love, McKenz
