Florence Outfits + Week In My Life

Oh, how the weeks are flying! I cannot believe it’s already October. Between the short school weeks and constant travels, time just doesn’t seem to want to slow down. It was an extra special week in Florence as Jules was in town for the first few days. I had a blast showing her around my new city and it really made me appreciate Florence in a whole new light.

I ended up skipping one day of class this week as I had an incredible opportunity arise to travel to Mykonos, Greece for a fun work trip. It was so much fun getting to work with my first hotel in Europe and I truly cannot say enough good things about the Panormos Village Resort staff. Safe to say I was born to be by sun and sand.

In true McKenz fashion, I arrived back in Florence late last night and am ready to hit the ground running for another busy school week. No time to rest— this Europe thing isn’t for the weak, lol. 😜

Two days in Florence but I have to say, this is definitely one of my favorite vlogs in Florence so far. My college friends finally got to meet my “work” friends which was a blast + we took a day trip to Siena. So fun! My Greece vlog will be up later this week, stay tuned.

WHAT’S HAPPENING THIS WEEK

Monday, October 3 

One of those days when I had so much to do that I could hardly keep my head above water. Out the door bright and early this morning for a full day of class. Spending all of my spare minutes doing laundry, cleaning my room, writing blog posts, and catching up on editing.

Met up with Jules after class and gave her a tour of campus + took her to all of my favorite spots. We grabbed drinks by the duomo, ate dinner at the cutest spot La Menagere, and went out with my roomies for a fun night. By far one of my favorite days of the semester—we had a blast!

Tuesday, October 4

Hopping on the bus bright and early this morning for a school field trip to Sienna, Italy. This was an extra special trip because this is where my mom lived and studied abroad 32 years ago. I called her during our lunch break and she pointed out her school and all of her favorite spots.

We toured the duomo and saw some incredible works of art. Had a yummy lunch, grabbed gelato, and then headed back to Florence where I quickly packed and got ready to take the train to Milan. No time to rest here.

Wednesday, October 5

Jules and I took a red-eye train to Milan where we then flew to Mykonos, Greece for a four-night stay at a beautiful resort. There’s nothing I love more than a hotel collab and this one was extra special since it was my first one in Europe. I was truly blown away by these views and enjoyed a long, much-needed day by the water.

Thursday, October 6 

Woke up in Mykonos and couldn’t have been happier about it. We slept in since we pulled an all-nighter the night before then slipped into swimsuits and headed straight to the beach. We spent the whole afternoon in the water. To my surprise, it’s still plenty warm for that! We ate dinner at the restaurant in our resort and called it quits early!

Friday, October 7 

Jules and I went into town today, spending most of our day frolicking the streets of Mykonos, getting lost between all of the amazing shopping and cute boutiques. We fell in love with these dresses and ended up getting matching ones + spending the rest of our day exploring and taking pictures in them. So much fun!

Saturday, October 8 

We got upgraded to a new room today, an incredible suite with its own moon pool that overlooked the ocean so I spent much of my day here, editing vlogs and popping in and out of the water. That’s my kind of day. We got ready and headed into town for one last sunset + chicken souvlaki dinner. Yum! Going to miss the food here so much; it was amazing!

Sunday, October 9

Enjoying one last breakfast with this view then packing up my stuff and heading to the airport. I had quite the travel day—two planes and two trains back to Florence but I made it safe and sound just before bedtime.
