I’ve been putting together these “what to wear” by city outfit guides for nearly two years now and without a doubt one of the most requested cities is Paris, France! Lucky for you my latest trip abroad was to the city of love so I’ve got lots of looks to share!
I had quite a packed itinerary during my four-day trip, therefore I changed outfits roughly twice a day. I want to note that I traveled to Paris in late September/early October and the weather was rather unpredictable. I got a little bit of everything—sun, rain, and temperatures ranging from 40-65. If you too are traveling this fall I highly recommend packing layers so you can mix and match as well as a good pair of walking shoes.
Today I’m sharing nine outfit ideas to wear in Paris this fall complete with links to shop and directions to some of the most Instagrammable photo spots! Don’t forget you can click the pink text for a direct link to shop each outfit I’m wearing! Be sure to tag me on Instagram @styledbymckenz if you choose to recreate any of these outfits! xo
I had a short, early morning flight from Florence to Paris so I ended up wearing “real” clothes as opposed to my normal athleisure. This way as soon as I hopped off the plane I could begin my day! I was shocked at how cold it was in Paris, even with a light long sleeve sweater and a leather shacket, I was freezing the first day.
However, these simple layers made for an easy, comfortable outfit for exploring Montmarte. I paired this with black distressed straight-leg jeans and a pair of Converse for a long day of walking.

Obviously, most people aren’t packing something this extravagant for their four-day trip to Paris but one of the reasons I made the trip to Paris was to attend a Fashion Week event. The attire was black tie so naturally, I found the cutest gold metallic dress to wear. This piece is from Revolve and would be amazing for a sorority formal, bridesmaid, or wedding guest dress.
It’s got a deep plunging neckline, an open back, and two high-leg slits along either side of the dress. Such a flattering piece and definitely makes a statement. Jules had the prettiest, crystal-encrusted heels that I borrowed! Definitely not comfortable shoes if you’re planning on being on your feet for long periods of time but so cute.

On my second day in Paris, we went right over to the Eiffel Tower. Trocadero was the perfect spot to grab photos with the tower in the distance and surprisingly, at 11:00 am it wasn’t too busy. I’d been saving this pink set for some iconic photos in front of the tower and that I got. This amazing duo is from Pepper Mayo and makes for an amazing photo op!
The top runs a little small as it is a grommet-closed bustier top so if you’re in between sizes, I’d recommend going up. As for the bottoms, these run a little big (lol) so I suggest going down! I’m wearing a size 4 and definitely could have gone down a size.

I’m sure most people aren’t interested in wearing a pink monochrome set for their day of sightseeing, nor would you be warm enough to do so. Therefore, as soon as I got my Pinterest-worthy picture, I changed into this fall-approved outfit for the remainder of our sightseeing day. I wasn’t sure what to expect weather-wise so I went for layers to play it safe. I started off with a black long sleeve bodysuit, popped a sweater vest over that, and a leather shacket over that.
It was brisk out but still warm enough for a skort and tights! As for footwear, comfy shoes are a must.
I wore these black-heeled boots for most of the days, and while my feet were tired after 20,000 steps, I certainly broke these babies in. They have a chunky platform that’s surprisingly easy to walk in and the sock boot style looks amazing, really elongating the legs. Of course, when in Paris, adding a beret is necessary!

I’ve been saving this white feather-lined mini dress for months now and finally had the perfect opportunity to wear it. Jules and I went on a dinner boat cruise past the Eiffel Tower and it was an incredible experience. The dress code for this was semi-formal so I played it safe by wearing a dress and heels and was so glad I did.
Almost everyone was dressed up and I was able to get some iconic photos as we watched the Eiffel Tower light up. Although you can walk up to the top of the boat for pictures, the entire meal is spent on the ground floor which is indoors, so you don’t have to worry about temperature too much for this event. Wear the dress—you’ll feel (and look) bomb!

Off for another day of sightseeing. We explored the Louvre, many Parisian side streets, and Palais Royal a popular (and free) spot to take photos. I wore the cutest satin dress that belted at the waist with a pair of polka dot tights layered underneath. These added a bit of texture and kept my legs the perfect temperature all day long.
Popping on those same boots from before and sporting my new Polene purse to match. This designer is actually from Paris so it only seemed right to wear my new bag today! I love the baguette style.

I threw this sweater dress into my suitcase at the last second, expecting to only wear it for a photo. To my surprise, I ended up wearing this the entire evening as the thick-sweater knit material kept me incredibly warm. Not to mention, this dress has to be one of the most flattering pieces I’ve ever put on my body.
With a bodycon fit, this hugs every curve, highlighting your best features. Plus, it has a sweetheart neckline that gives your chest a little extra lift. I wasn’t planning on styling this with boots but they were all I had and I ended up loving it. The perfect mix of edgy and chic. Bonus points for the claw clip pulling this look together.

I wanted an I love Paris tee so badly… I picked this up from a tacky tourist shop and ended up getting a kid’s size so that it could fit like a cropped baby tee. I paired this with just a simple pair of black ripped jeans and the same leather shacket I wore all week long. This piece is seriously a lifesaver—not only for this trip but in my day-to-day activities as well. I’ve had it for years and truly wear it everywhere. It’s not super bulky and pairs well with everything.
For shoes, I borrowed Jules Prada slip-ons and tied the look together with a red beret. I couldn’t have loved this outfit more if I tried. Tacky or not, I thought this was too cute for a day of playing tourist.

On my last day in Paris, we took photos, explored all kinds of side streets, and popped in and out of a few cute cafes. I got this white eyelet lace long-sleeve from Princess Polly specifically for my trip to Paris and it certainly did not disappoint. Such a dreamy piece and would be amazing for so many different occasions. It does run small so size up—I’m a 34B in the chest wearing a size 2 and definitely could have used the 4.
I paired this with a cute pair of linen pants from Express and those same Prada slides. Of course, no outfit in France is complete without the beret. Linking one you can buy online, however, they sell these on literally every street corner imaginable so if you don’t get one before your trip, don’t fret.

What a fun trip to Paris it was! The weather can definitely be a bit unpredictable during the fall so make sure you’ve got layers and tights on hand to easily alter your outfits. All in all, I’d say I did pretty well with the packing this time around. I’m so glad I was able to wear so much variety this trip + always love putting together these outfit guides for you.
Stay tuned for more travels coming soon!
With love, McKenz
