Weekly Wrap Up #41 2022

One thing nobody talks about when studying abroad is how hard finding a balance between school, travel, and work is… constantly on the move and I’ll be honest it’s chaotic at times. However, it’s some of the most fun I’ve ever had and I am so grateful for this season of life with my friends.   

We had a short and sweet school week again (let’s be honest, when do we not lol?!) due to fall break so Liv and I hopped on a plane to Africa. We had the most amazing time immersing ourselves in the Moroccan culture. Truly one of my favorite trips so far + memories I’ll never forget. Stay tuned for that travel guide coming later this week…

WHAT’S HAPPENING THIS WEEK

Monday, October 10

Off to class bright and early this morning. Had a busy day of three classes + lots of styledby work to tend to. Doing laundry, picking up the room, and getting some groceries for our week at home. It was a long day but a productive one!

Tuesday, October 11

Just two classes today where we talked about our upcoming trip to Milan! I spent every free moment today getting all of my Greece and Paris blog posts and YouTube videos in order. Trying hard to stay on top of all the content. 🤞🏼 Liv and I made dinner and had a bottle of wine at the house and it felt so good to sit and chat; we even called a few Kent friends to catch up!

Wednesday, October 12

Another busy day of classes with a fun guest speaker from the famous leather school in Florence! Liv and I ventured to the cutest new gelato spot Gelatarium after class and it was so fun inside- it’s like a frozen yogurt spot where you choose your flavors and add as many toppings as you please. Def will have to come here again.

Thursday, October 13

Let myself sleep in this morning since it’s going to be a hectic two weeks! After filming a quick YouTube video I went straight into trip prep mode: washing my hair, shaving, panting my nails, trying on my outfits, packing my bag, downloading flight info, and charging up all of my electronics. We left mid-afternoon and had two train rides and a plane ride before landing safe and sound for a fun weekend in Morocco.

Friday, October 14

Woke up in AFRICA! We started our morning touring a traditional Barber house and then went for a camel ride. We made our way over to a huge mountain for a two-hour hike to see the waterfalls! Enjoyed traditional Moroccan food and a night on the square. Such a cool day.

Saturday, October 15

Started our morning off with an incredible ATV tour. Not only was riding around fun but seeing all of the different terrain, desert, and African way of life was literally life-changing. I feel like I gained a whole new perspective on the world today. Changed, ate lunch and went for a walking tour, shopping, and palace tour around the town center.

Sunday, October 16

We got traditional Hamman spa baths and massages this morning. It was so relaxing and such a unique experience. We then checked out of our hostel and began our long twelve-hour travel day home. It was quite the weekend… Africa, I’m sure we will be back!
