I’ve been dreaming of a cozy fall trip to the mountains all year long and my wish finally came true! We spent the weekend frolicking around Lucerne, Switzerland and it was amazing. We visited in late October and the weather was just perfect—sunny and a crisp seventy degrees each day.
I layered up in some adorable outfits, finally breaking out my sweaters and boots. Today I’m sharing a short and sweet outfit guide, complete with all three outfits I wore during our trip to Switzerland. Hope this gives you some outfit inspiration—if not for your abroad travels, for a fun mountain weekend out west!
Such a simple outfit but one you can’t go wrong with. There’s nothing easier, or more fitting for Switzerland this time of year, than a good ole sweater and jeans combo. Up top, I’ve got on the cutest chunky knit from Daisy, a SheIn collection that has more sophisticated designs. I have this sweater in three colors and it’s one of my favorites—I’m wearing a size medium and it has the perfect oversized fit + is so easy to layer with.
I’ve front-tucked this into a pair of straight-leg jeans from Revolve. These have a classic fit that you can’t go wrong with. I’m wearing a 24 and these just fit, so if you’re in between sizes I recommend going up. These are full-length jeans but I’ve got them cuffed to show off my favorite boots, the Hutch from Steve Madden.

This outfit has the same building blocks as the last and yet I love it even more. I actually wore this sweater in Milan last week and loved it so much that I brought it to Switzerland too! It’s a very lightweight knit that layers well with a long sleeve underneath or a jacket over top! The boat neckline looks amazing with layered necklaces and a cute scarf. I’ve found myself keeping a scarf on me SO much here in Europe. These wider ones act as a shawl so you can easily throw a layer around your shoulders!
On the bottom, I slipped into the cutest straight-leg jeans from SheIn. I’m not usually a fan of their denim but these are great. The straight-leg fit is adorable and these have the perfect amount of distressing throughout the knees. They hit right at the ankle so they look amazing with these chestnut boots. I loved these for a day of walking around the city–they give you a little bit of height but are still very walkable.
Of course, I’m popping on a cute purse to match. I love my Polene bags. They are family owned and made with the most amazing leather! I have several and cannot say enough good things. I brought three with me to Europe!

I get so many questions on my favorite basic bodysuits and the answer is always this one from Amazon! I have it in several different colorways and catch myself wearing them time and time again. The chocolate brown is perfect for the fall time. I threw on that same beige scarf for an added layer. I was shocked that even in late October, it was still warm enough to forgo a jacket!
I’m pairing these with the same jeans and boots combo I was wearing in the first outfit. These are truly the best shoes for a day full of walking. My most comfortable boots by far! I accessorized it with a purse I bought handmade on my trip to Morocco, Africa. Too cute and adds just the right amount of texture.

Of course, if you’re looking to block out the sun with a cute pair of sunglasses I recommend checking out anything from Warby Parker! They’ve got some of my favorite frames to accessorize with.

You certainly don’t need to be in Switzerland to recreate these cute fall looks but I sure loved the way they matched the aesthetic. Plus, after so many amazing warm-weather trips, I loved getting the chance to pull out my sweaters for a weekend in the mountains. Definitely bring a few layering pieces—I wore long sleeves under my sweaters so that I could go without a jacket and was the perfect temperature throughout the day. A scarf, beanie, and jacket as “just in case” pieces and you’ll be all set!
I’m off to Barcelona this weekend and can’t wait to share more fun travel looks with you. Make sure you’re following me on Instagram at @styledbymckenz to keep up with my European travels in live time. Until then…
With love, McKenz
