I blinked and suddenly it’s November… where is the time going?! Hard to believe that this time next month we’ll be packing our bags and headed back to the United States to graduate! Soaking in all of our time here in Florence—staying busy with some end-of-year projects, trying all kinds of new restaurants, and packing up for another weekend trip to Barcelona. It was a busy week, to say the least!
With love, McKenz

Busy day of back-to-back classes then walked across the river for a fun dinner collaboration at a new spot called Reburger. It was so fun getting to switch up our usual meals and eat some “American” food for a change. We then got dressed as fairies and went out for a fun Halloween evening.

Tuesday, November 1
November 1 is an Italian holiday which meant no classes today. I spent my entire day curled up in bed catching up on editing and submitting all kinds of sponsored content. Lauren and I ventured out to an adorable spot Osteria de Catalina for dinner. This restaurant was right around the corner from the duomo and we had an amazing, three-hour-long dinner trying all kinds of delicious food. So much fun and a true Italian experience.

Wednesday, November 2
I typically have three classes on Wednesdays with a three-hour break in between. While I would typically head home to write a blog post, today Olivia and I ventured over to a restaurant called Paoli 1827, the oldest restaurant in Florence. We had an incredible meal—burrata, truffle pasta, risotto, and beef tenderloin. We spent our meal having a “November reset” exchanging things we’re grateful for this season.

Thursday, November 3
Italian Fashion class today was spent at the Palazzo Strozzi, an art exhibit that plays on perception. It was very cool! Went back to our apartment and shot some outfit photos, packed up my suitcase, and got ready for another weekend trip. Lauren and I took the last flight out of Florence straight to Barcelona for a fun bestie weekend. We headed straight to Taco Bell upon landing, lol, and then over to The Corner Hotel to rest up for a busy weekend.

Woke up in Barcelona! Off to Park Guell first thing this morning to walk around and take in all of Anotnoi Gaudi’s beautiful architecture. I loved how bright and colorful it was here! We then grabbed tapas, walked around the city stopping by popular spots like Sagrada Familia, shopped, and had some amazing burritos at a place called Taco Negro. After 25,000 steps today, we were pooped!

Saturday, November 5
We did all the things today. Started our morning with an amazing brunch followed by a house tour of Casa Batllo. We then hopped on a cable car and saw some amazing views of the city. From there we went over to the beach for a bit—obviously, it wasn’t warm enough to be in a swimsuit in the middle of November but it was still fun to take it all in. Grabbed tacos to finish off the night!

Sunday, November 6
Started off our final day in Barcelona visiting the Arc and exploring the park. We took tons of photos, walked around, and even rode a little boat. I spent the rest of the afternoon exploring + eating before taking a late-night flight back to Florence!
