I can’t believe I’m saying this but today, after seven years of weekly uploads, I’m writing my last Weekly Wrap Up. Pre Styled by McKenz, my freshman year of high school, I was completing a challenge called The 100 Happy Days where you posted a photo that brought you a small amount of joy to Facebook for 100 days straight. At the end of the 100 days, I realized that many of my photos were simply outfit of the days or small clothing purchases I had made. My friends and family were sad when the challenge had come to an end, no longer seeing small bits and pieces of my days, and to be honest, so was I.
Two months later I launched my website and decided to implement “Weekly Wrap Up’s” which were designed to be an extension of the 100 days challenge, a weekly recap of these small bits that brought me happiness in addition to my outfit of the day. My goal was to post one every single Sunday for a year. To keep searching for those small moments of joy.
Seven years later and I’m still going strong. I have my entire high school and college experience documented throughout these posts and as you scroll through my archives you can see quite literally every outfit I’ve worn over the last seven years. I’ve never missed a week.
With each New Year I debate whether or not I should continue posting these. To be honest, hardly anyone reads them and some may even deem this level of casualness on a website as “unprofessional” but it’s always made me feel more personally connected to you, like more of a friend. In years past I’ve polled my audience, asking if these posts are even “necessary”, and every year I get hurt when I read the results saying “no”. Ultimately that’s why I’ve decided to keep them—I know if I were ready to let go of this habit, I wouldn’t be hurt to see that answer.
Well, 2023 is here and I didn’t even bother polling my audience this year. I feel ready to close this chapter and turn the page. I know deep in my heart I’ve accomplished what I set out to do all those years ago and I also know that my audience isn’t going anywhere. With my constant travels and consistent upload,s I know that you won’t miss a beat, you’ll just be consuming my daily #OOTDs a little differently this year. As always you can keep up with my day-to-day in live time @styledbymckenz.
Thank you truly for giving me an outlet to creatively express myself, but also to emotionally express myself. It’s been an absolute pleasure growing up alongside you guys. It’s not a goodbye just a see ya later. Styled by isn’t going anywhere, just evolving into who I always knew she’d be.
Loving you always. Thank you again.
All my love, McKenz

Getting all dolled up and shooting my seventh anniversary photos. We always celebrate the day beforehand that way pictures and posts can go live on the actual day, January 1st. We had the perfect weather and ate the yummiest cake. Grabbed some drinks after to celebrate now that I’m finally 21 and it really was the most fun day! Feeling the love and am so excited to share the rest of these photos with you.

Having a chill work-from-home kind of day, editing YouTube videos and working on end-of-the-year blog posts. The fam and I headed out to The Mount Airy Tavern for dinner where I had some yummy bacon-wrapped shrimp. I spent my night in bed reading. I just started The Light We Lost and it’s phenomenal so far!

Woke up and went right to Starbucks to meet one of my sweet high school friends for our annual sit and spill session. We spent almost six hours sitting and catching up on life. It’s always so good to see one another, even if the times are getting fewer and further between. Spent my evening like all New Years Eve’s, writing my annual Styled by anniversary post! Woohoo!
