New York Fashion Week really is one of the best weeks of the year! There’s nothing more exciting than watching next season’s trends walk down the runway. Of course, the week is full of running between different brand events, gifting suites, and fashion shows all while wearing watered-down versions of last year’s runway trends. Unforuntaltey I missed September’s shows as I was studying abroad in Florence, Italy but that made this year’s Fashion Week even sweeter.
I couldn’t think of a better “work” week; I really do feel like I’m living the dream these days. Of course, I got to do it all while wearing some of my closet’s funkiest pieces. Today I’m recapping everything I wore during New York Fashion Week this February along with links to shop each item and directions to some of the most Insatgrammable photo locations in NYC.
When I saw this dress on the Lulus website I knew I needed to bring it along for the New York Fashion Week fun. I mean come on, can you think of anything more perfect for a full day of fashion shows? I was totally having a Carrie Bradshaw moment in this. This is a full-length maxi that would work perfectly as a bridesmaid, wedding guest, or formal dress.
At 5’2 it was a little long on me but it was nothing a pair of chunky heels couldn’t fix. I went for a full monochrome look, mixing in a different shade of pink with this adorable floral clutch from Petal & Pup. I was shocked at how much this fit! So cute.
One of my favorite outfits of the week was this black jumpsuit. It had long sleeves and long pants so it also happened to be one of the warmest things I brought along with me. Thankfully it was about 50 degrees throughout our stay so no chunky winter jacket was needed. I layered the most fabulous black sequin coat on top for a fun statement. Does it get any cuter than this?!
On my feet, I’m wearing the cutest pink sparkly heels you’ve ever seen. Ironically they are also some of the most uncomfortable heels you’ve ever seen lol. Nothing kills quite like a pointed toe, clear plastic material, and a stiletto heel. Thank god they pulled this outfit together, haha—made all the blisters worth it. Me being me I also had a mini purse to match, duh!

There’s nothing I love more than a matchy-matchy moment. This feather dress paired with these feather pointed-toe heels certainly did not disappoint. While this was perfect for a day full of fashion week vents. I also feel like this outfit combination would be so much fun for a bride-to-be/bachelorette party. Lulus bridal collection is full of good pieces for the occasion.
This dress is actually a spaghetti strap and while it was pleasantly warm in NYC it wasn’t warm enough to wear just that. I ended up slipping on my favorite hot pink coat to complete the look. While this coat definitely completed this outfit, giving it the perfect pop of color, it really was useful throughout my stay. I ended up wearing this with almost every outfit as I walked from event to event. I always prefer something knee-length when I’m staying in New York City to help keep the wind out!
How fun are these star boots from Steve Madden? Hands down they have the best statement shoes and I just had to bring them all with this trip! These are platform boots that hit just below the knee and have a three-inch heel to really give you some lift. Because these are such loud shoes, I felt they needed to be paired with something simple.
I went for something solid pink to match the stars on these boots. This button-down shirt dress is rather shapeless. To keep it from swallowing my figure whole, I opted for a gold star chain belt. Accentuating the waist of this helped make these puff sleeves seem even more dramatic which was always my goal. Such a fun yet bold look for frolicking around the city.

As you can tell the theme of this trip was pink! With spring right around the corner, I’ve been buying so much of the color, having so much fun stepping out of my usual color palette comfort zone. This strapless jumpsuit from Petal and Pup was the perfect polished yet professional piece to wear to an early morning show. This jumpsuit has a large slit along the side that exposes the leg. I paired this with the same pink heels and clutch for another monochromatic look.
I love this jumpsuit specifically because it can be styled in so many different ways. It could be cute for a dress rehearsal, dinner party, or even with a fun pair of cowgirl boots to keep things casual. Love this so much and went with my true size.
As much as I love frolicking around in little pink dresses and funky shoes, there were many times throughout the week that I needed to be in something a little more practical. I met up with a handful of creators for dinner and drinks and ended up wearing this adorable combination for our fun evening out. You truly can’t go wrong with leather pants in the city, especially if it’s going to be a bit chilly out. This Abercrombie pair has a light fleece lining that keeps you warmer than most bottoms plus they matched the fur on my coat perfectly.
This jacket is one of my favorites of the season. It has a leather-like feel and a trench-like silhouette that hangs beautifully. You can leave it open or tie it along the waist to accentuate your figure. Regardless, it makes such a statement and scored me (literally) hundreds of compliments as I walked through the city. I always make sure to pack a few basic long sleeves and a pair of little black boots with me. They always come in handy with statement pieces like these!

Making a professional first impression at Spring Studios wearing this adorable pink blazer dress. This has the cutest buttons along the center and a bit of shoulder opadding throughout the top. I went for a bare leg and styled this with chunky pink platform heels, however you could totally make this piece work for a business casual office setting—I’d just recommend adding tights and a pair of close-toed boots this time of year!
However what really tied this outfit together was my beautiful pink Christian Dior tote. I’m actually borrowing this for the month through a company called Vivrelle—a rental service for designer handbags. If you’re wanting to try before you buy or are constantly on the hunt for a new bag, I highly suggest using this service. It has been so much fun getting to style new pieces and this beautiful tote really was the perfect purse to throw a change of shoes in during the fashion week chaos!
I went to a few different showrooms and grabbed dinner and drinks in this adorable black silk matching set. Paired with huge pink sparkle platform heels and a matching little purse, this outfit was instantly tied together. I will admit, these are some of the most uncomfortable shoes to walk in. They tore my feet up within minutes and I ended up buying socks and taking the Subway for the rest of the night, lol. Perhaps bring sneakers and change into these once you actually make it to your event, lol. Regardless they sure do make a good photo op, lol.
Of course, I also had a few casual outfits that I wore during non-fashion week events like simple sweaters and cropped jeans, however, I’ll spare you the boring stuff and leave you with these. While I’m not the biggest New York City fan, there really is nothing better than getting to spend the week surrounded by high fashion and the best in the industry. I’m riding such a high as I watch my dreams become a reality…
Can’t wait to be back in NYC in the fall for round two. Until then.
