I’m off to New England to spend the week exploring Cape Cod, Newport, and Nantucket, and am so ready to embrace the coastal grandaughter style! I’ve been online shopping for weeks, carefully putting together the ultimate wardrobe. I’m so excited to wear these outfits as I explore the beauty of the East Coast.
I’m sure I’ll be posting tons of Instagram stories throughout my stay… make sure you’re following along so you don’t miss out on all the fun. In the meantime, let’s hop into the outfit. Sharing ten outfit ideas with links to shop so you can get your wardrobe ready for all your summer travels. Enjoy!
dress || belt || shoes || clutch
This beautiful blue is perfect for a coastal chic summer. This dress hangs so effortlessly with the most amazing open back. Wear it on its own or give it some shape with a little seashell belt. Keeping things beachy with a pair of platform espadrilles from Dolce Vita and the cutest clutch to match.
I scored this for just a few bucks from Shein and I’m wearing it on repeat. It fits just the essentials and matches all of my raffia pieces perfectly… and if you know me, you know how much I love that!
No better way to beat the heat than with a sun dress. The second I saw this seersucker dress on Revolve’s site, I knew it was coming home with me. Such an easy piece to slip on before heading out the door. Just toss on a pair of white sandals and a cute little purse to match and you’re all set. Love!
Nothing screams New England summer quite like a little bit of seersucker! These dainty stripes are the perfect, classic print to rock this season. This set is from one of my favorite wholesalers, Mable. They stock all kinds of lightweight linens that are easy breezy for this time of year.
I’m keeping things beachy with a straw hat (this is my favorite from Lulus), matching platforms, and that same clutch. Love love love for an afternoon of shopping.
top || jeans || purse || sandals
I’ve been told it cools down quite a bit in the evenings here so I made sure to pack a few lightweight button-ups. I’m keeping things summer-y with white jeans. Express has some of my favorite denim, especially if you’re wanting a sifter fabric that’s not as stiff. (Ideal if you’re wanting to eat all the oysters and drink all the cocktails!😉)
These sandals are under $20 from Lulus and are the perfect shoe to complete the outfit. Don’t forget a straw bag—I swear I can’t go anywhere this time of year without one! This is an old Shein favorite.
Rompers are my go-to when I want an easy daytime outfit. Whether I’m headed to Sunday brunch or just shopping around the cute boutiques, these make for a comfortable yet stylish outfit. Just throw on a few raffia pieces and you’ve instantly made this beach-town approved.
top || jeans || sandals || purse
I’ve been saving this perfect pink top for a happy hour along the coast. This top is classy yet flirty all at once. I couldn’t love the cut of this more. This peplum style pairs effortlessly with low-rise bottoms. I pulled out my go-to white jeans from Calvin Klein. I love the contrast of the lacey top and boxy bottoms.
If there’s *any* chance one drink might turn into a full-blown night out I like to wear a pair of sandals. I have this Dolce Vita pair in several colors and reach for them all the time. Very comfortable and they match this purse perfectly.
If you happen to have a wedding coming up in New England, this pink bubble dress would be perfect. I don’t usually reach for shorter styles when it comes to dressier events but this dress was too cute to pass up. It has dainty straps and grommet details along the bust.
I wanted to keep things coastal so I’m wearing those same Dolce Vita wedges and adding my favorite bag ever from Shiraleah. I can’t seem to find this online but I bought it from a small boutique in Charleston along King Street!
I’m *praying* we can make our way onto a boat while we are on the Cape. If we do, you’ll catch me in this adorable seer sucker romper. You can tie this several different ways—right now I have it pulled straight back along the chest to give it a plunging neckline and crisscrossed along the back.
This is such a flattering piece and would be perfect for the Fourth of July weekend. Of course, I’m adding straw accessories…, whose shocked!
I can never say no to a sunny yellow dress. There just truly isn’t a happier hue out there. This neckline is so flattering with a slick back bun to show off the shoulders. You can’t see in these photos but this has a beautiful scoop back as well. I wanted all of the attention to be on this color so I opted for tan wedges and a matching purse.
I throw this outfit into my bag on every trip we go on “just in case”. A silk, tie-front top with denim shorts can quite literally be worn for any occasion. If we’re having a “do it all” day that ends with dinner and drinks you can usually find me in this outfit combo.
Add a pair of strappy sandals to elongate the legs—I love the heel height on this pair from Dolce Vita. They are that perfect in between a flat sandal and full-blown heel. Can’t go wrong!
How chic are these looks?! Thank God so many brands have been stocking up on “East Coast summer” pieces! There’s nothing better than the coastal vibe mixed with classic staples and preppy elements. I couldn’t have dreamt up a better capsule closet to bring with me on this trip!
Stay tuned for more photos coming very soon. xx
