When I first launched Styled by McKenz I was a broke fourteen-year-old, hoping to be named Best Dressed by the time I received my senior yearbook. I’d spend most of my weekends securing the TJ Maxx clearance rack, hoping to strike gold with my $40 monthly budget. News flash, I always did.
Flash forward eight years later—I was in fact given Best Dressed as my senior superlative, blogging is my full-time career, I have free clothes sent to my door every single day, and I still get that same rush when I find a good deal. I accepted a fun sponsorship with Marshalls this month to share some of their fall fashion finds over on Instagram. Talk about an exciting, full-circle moment!
For old-times sake, I figured it would be fun to round up my latest finds, showing you how I’m styling each one in a Pinterest-approved outfit idea. *Unfortunately I cannot share links to most things as they were local TJ Maxx/Marshalls finds but I figured it would still be fun to give you the outfit ideas. Enjoy.

Nothing screams fall quite like a good ole striped sweater. I saw this adorable one in the “New Arrivals” section of my local TJ Maxx and immediately added it to my cart. It’s from the brand Sincerely Jules which I love. Paired with straight-leg jeans and Converse you’ve got a simple, trendy outfit idea that’s perfect for class.

My favorite way to layer for the fall is with button-ups. When it’s not quite jacket weather, one of these acts as the perfect lightweight layer. I finally found Zara at my local Marshalls—I snatched this $9.99 bodysuit up so fast! It’s perfect underneath of this cream button-up. I love the oversized fit of this. Such a good staple piece to have in my fall rotation.
Throw on your favorite high-waisted jeans—these are my current go-to from Hollister. I love the way chunky boots pair with straight-leg bottoms. I’ve been eyeing these Dolce Vita lugged booties for years and found them at TJ Maxx for $39.99. Talk about a score!

This outfit looks like it was picked right off of my favorite preppy Pinterest board. Needless to say, I’m obsessed! One of my favorite ways to wear an oversized sweater is with a mini skirt peaking out underneath.
I’m elongating the legs with a pair of knee-high boots. These will be all the rage this season. This pair is from Steve Madden and they’ve got the perfect heel height for daily wear. I couldn’t love this outfit more!

My TJ Maxx has seriously stepped up their game—they have the trendiest pieces and so many small brands that I’ve been dying to try. Cargos have been all over my Pinterest board so I was really excited to score this pair for under $15! They are from a small coastal California brand too which I love.
I always pair cargos with a fitted bodysuit. This keeps everything tucked in really seamlessly which is key. I’m keeping this outfit well balanced with black shoes—I’m hanging onto sandals as long as I can. These are some of my most worn from Dolce Vita. I have three colors!

You can’t go wrong with a cropped crewneck sweatshirt and your favorite leggings for a casual day of class. Add a few gold jewles, sunglasses, and a chunky sneaker to make this look a little less “I woke up late and this was the first thing I could find in my closet.”

These tie-front sweaters keep catching my eye. As the fall temperatures roll into town, you’ll catch me wearing this adorable oatmeal-colored one from TJ Maxx. You could totally layer a basic tank underneath of this but if you’re feeling frisky, go braless like me!
I’ve been really into low-rise jeans this season. I know what you’re thinking, eek not low-rise! I promise they aren’t as scary as you remember, we were just styling them all wrong lol. Try going for a longer crop to elongate the torso. To keep the jeans from feeling bulky, swap your sneakers for a pair of sandals instead!

Something about this linen jumpsuit just screams “teacher” to me. It’s a lightweight linen that’s perfect for those early fall weeks when temperatures still have a taste of summer to them. I tossed on a pair of Dolce Vita sneakers (their Zinas are my favorite!) and a little purse to match.

Like I said, button-ups are always a part of my fall outfit rotation. I’m leaving this chambray one buttoned up with a pair of leggings. To elongate the legs, I suggest a pair of low-top sneakers rather than high-tops. Having that little sliver of ankle showing makes all the difference!
Speaking of, these platform Converse I’ve been wearing nonstop. They are so comfy and look so cute with all of my fall outfits.

Can’t go wrong with a black sweater. I’d argue that this is one of the most important pieces to consider when assembling your fall wardrobe. My Marshalls had tons of options but this one caught my eye. I love the batwing sleeve and tapered fit. I front tucked this into a pair of jeans and threw on a pair of black boots for a simple, never-fail outfit.

How adorable is this top?! I found this at Marshalls and instantly fell in love with its boxy, square-neck crop and denim-like fabric. It’s the perfect piece for a coffee date and/or Sunday Funday. Again, I found this length really flattering with a pair of low-rise jeans and sandals. I scored this cute Dolce Vita pair for just $20 from Marshalls. Woohoo!

I mean, did I hit the jackpot or what?! I couldn’t have asked for a better TJ Maxx & Marshalls run to kick-start fall. I highly suggest treating yourself to a solo shopping date this week. You deserve it… plus there’s nothing better than the thrill of finding a good deal. Let me know if you end up finding anything good!
