I may be a self-employed girly but month after month my most requested blog post is for business casual outfit ideas. Office wear doesn’t have to be stuffy— today I’m sharing ten work-approved outfit ideas featuring my current favorite button-ups, trouser pants, non-distressed denim, and more.
Nothing better than a stylish yet comfortable combo for a long day on the job. These looks are perfect as we transition into the cooler months. I’m planning on making this a monthly series on my channel so stay tuned for cold-weather layers coming soon.

There’s nothing more business casual than a mock neck top. This modest neckline will leave you looking both polished and professional. Give this cotton tee a little shape by front-tucking it into your favorite bottoms. I know most business casual offices allow denim if it’s not ripped.
These straight-leg jeans from American Eagle are my new favorites—they are a little more tapered throughout the leg giving them a classier feel. I have them cuffed with a pair of mules for the perfect simple outfit. Don’t forget a girl boss bag to match. All of my favorite leather comes from Polene. A splurge but so worth it for the designer!

Sweater tanks have quickly become my favorite summer-to-fall transition piece. This one is buttery soft, high-neck, and full-length so it’s perfect to wear in the office. Tuck this into a pair of trouser pants and you’re good to go. These are the Livvy from Hollister and they are hands down the best trousers on the market.
I’ve tried dozens of pairs but none as good as these—they are lightweight, double-lined, with elastic waistbands, and real pockets. Available in short/long/regular too. I wear a 000 regular and am 5’2. Don’t forget a cardigan if your office gets chilly—I’ve been loving tying one around the shoulders.

Those trouser pants also pair well with an oversized sweater. Make your favorite weekend attire office-ready by giving it a little front tuck. Then slip into a few accessories and a pair of mules to pull everything together. Linking the best mules for everyday wear via Amazon!

I cannot recommend this sweater enough. As much as I love a good oversized look, they can be a tad frumpy for the office. Keep things polished with this fitted long sleeve. It’s ribbed and so cozy — thicker than a typical tee but not as chunky as your average sweater which makes it the best layering piece.
Super easy to toss on with a pair of jeans and mules. Speaking of, this Chinese Laundry pair I’ve had for four years now and they are still some of my most worn shoes in the fall. Great for the office and so comfortable!

Who doesn’t love a little color?! This collared tee comes in 10+ colors and I just had to grab the baby pink to bring a little color into my otherwise *very* neutral closet. Such a great staple piece to grab in a few different colors— could layer a turtleneck underneath or throw a cardigan over the top once temps drop a bit!

Fall is creeping its way in which means so are the layers! One of my favorite ways to give extra life to my sweater vests is by throwing a long-sleeved bodysuit on underneath. Not only will this give you a little extra warmth, but it’s a fun way to mix colors/patterns/textures.

I’d argue that every corporate girly needs a pair of trousers in tan, white, and black. And then a solid long sleeve in tan, white, and black. This way you can mix and match creating lots of different outfits. You can also go for monochrome which is my go-to if I wake up late!
Add mules and a basic sweater around the shoulders to top off the look.

Not feeling pants today? No worries; reach for a midi skirt instead. I scored this black one from SheIn a few weeks ago and seriously cannot stop wearing it. Whether you’re headed on a date, to the bars, or even the office there are just endless ways to style this baby!
I’m tucking a lightweight sweater in and slipping into mules. Any shoes that leave the ankles exposed will work! This will help elongate the legs a bit.

I’ve tried a lot of button-ups over the years and the American Eagle Boyfriend style is hands down the best on the market. This comes in over ten colors, both full-length and cropped and they are life-changing. They have just the right amount of boxiness throughout the shoulders, giving your typical collared shirt a more relaxed feel.
I’m leaving this half-tucked and adding a belt to help break up all the light neutrals. Such a basic look but one that never fails!

I’m pulling out a mini skirt any chance I can get! I know many of you work in more laid-back office settings in which case this outfit is perfect! Toss your favorite oversized sweater over top and slip into knee-high boots to keep the legs a *little* covered. Add fun tights if need be!
What’s your go-to place to shop for officewear? I’d love to hear about your go-to stores so I can start shopping for more business casual pieces to share with you. Hoping to place a few more orders and share another round-up of outfit ideas soon. Stay tuned!
