Copenhagen, Denmark is one of the fastest-growing cities in the world right now. Not only is it home to more bicycles than cars and the happiest population of people in Europe, but it’s also home to some of the best street-style fashion.
With Copenhagen Fashion Week growing in popularity and relevance each year, I was so excited to come here. Today I’m rounding up six outfit ideas from my fall visit to Copnehagn complete with links to shop and directions to each photo location. That way you can recreate these looks if you find yourself in the city sometime soon.
I visited in mid-October and it was much chillier + rainier than I planned for therefore my outfits weren’t completely suitable for the weather. Consider adding a knee-length coat like one of these and a cute hat to each outfit to keep warm.
Not bringing a jacket to Copenhagen was definitely a mistake but I made do as best I could with some layers. Started in a solid long-sleeve then layered on a solid long sleeve then layered on this adorable thermal crewneck from American Eagle. I have this in two colors it’s one of my favorite layering pieces for the fall.
Style it with leggings and sneakers for a laid-back travel day or with jeans, leg warmers, and platform Uggs for a day of sightseeing. Of course, I had to add matching sunglasses and a purse to tie everything together.

If you type in “Copenhagen outfit ideas” into the interest search bar hundreds of outfits similar to this one will appear. I’m almost positive the maxi skirt trend that’s taking the world by storm this fall trickled down from their runway shows so it only seemed right to style this adorable olive green cargo skirt here. I got this from Boohoo a few months back and the low-rise fit is so flattering.
I styled this with a basic white long-sleeve tee and white low-top sneakers. All the cool girls here are walking around with a sweater draped around their shoulders. I swear this simple step makes your outfit look 10x more elevated. Don’t forget sunnies and a leather purse. This Polene one is one of my favorites!

Another trend I saw tons of girls rocking was pajama pants styled as streetwear. I brought these striped linen ones for my trip to Greece but ended up wearing them in Copenhagen as a comfy outfit as well. Same white long-sleeve and Uggs to complete this look.

For as colorful as this city is, everyone, and I mean everyone is layered in neutrals. Most girls were seen in boxy, oversized silhouettes that had a really gender-neutral vibe. I gave it a go for another day of sightseeing. Layered up in the same long sleeves and this black sweater. I kid you not I wore this at least once a day at some point lol. It goes with everything.
I front tucked this into a pair of trousers which are one of those clothing items I only seem to wear when I’m in Europe. When you start dressing for practicality/being on the go all day you realize why they are so popular, haha. I rave about this pair from Hollister all the time. They are the best!
Breaking up all the black with the only scarf I brought on this trip and boots to match!

Headed to a fall festival called Tivoli one afternoon which is essentially a glorified Disney that changes seasonally! It’s super casual here, full of locals and schoolchildren. I kept things super casual with that same American Eagle pullover and a leather shacket layered over top.
I was definitely chilly in this outfit as the temperature drops quite a bit in the evenings so, as I said, just factor in a jacket and hat when recreating these looks.

When in doubt, a monochrome outfit is always the answer. I wore this black cropped long-sleeve tee a gazillion times throughout my month-long Europe trip. The best basic to layer with or wear on its own. I also wore this maxi skirt in every country… #outfitrepeater.
This piece sits just below the belly button with more of a low-rise vibe and it’s so flattering. I paired it with sandals and a tank in Italy and with a shoulder sweater moment and sneakers in Copenhagen!
Speaking of, everyone here was wearing sneakers. It didn’t matter if the girl was wearing tights, trousers, jeans, or leggings 99% of people were sporting a pair of Vejas, New Blanaces, or Asics. With how walkable the city is and how many bikers there are, it just makes sense that everyone is in their most practical shoes. I kind of loved it!

I so wish I had more suitcase space on this trip… the shopping was so good. I could have stocked up on fifty more pounds, haha. I also would’ve brought a few trendier outfits + basics to photograph but oh well, 6 European countries in 30 days with one suitcase means you have to get a little creative.
I certainly made the most of it and loved every second of my time in Copenhagen. Browse more fall outfit ideas from my favorite European cities here.
