Puerto Rico is the only Caribbean destination you can travel to without a passport! It became a United States territory in 1917 which means it’s an easy travel day from the mainland.
I spent a week here during spring break time soaking up the pristine beaches, lush mountains, and colorful town centers. From hiking to swimming to eating out we did it all.
And lucky for you I’ve got an outfit idea for every occasion. Sharing all of the vacation outfits I packed for my week in the tropics along with links to shop so you can recreate them.
For reference, I visited at the end of February and temperatures were high seventies-low eighties with the UV index climbing near 10. Warm but very windy so pack accordingly!
Can’t come to the Caribbean without packing a linen set or two. This lightweight fabric will be your best friend during those humid afternoons in the tropics.
These elastic bottoms are super comfy but with a statement earring and a fun straw bag, this outfit is instantly dressed up for dinner and drinks in town.

Be sure to pack a handful of bikinis for your trip to San Juan. Amid February temperatures are still well into the seventies with the UV creeping up to 10 which means you’ll definitely get some sun.
I like to start the week off in neons to make me look tanner than I am. This Kulani Kinis suit is one of my favorite styles by far!

Looking for good vacation clothes? Fortunate One is my go-to for dresses, sets, and flowy maxi skirts. This green two-piece set caught my eye right away. With a square neck top and a fitted maxi skirt, this is such a classy combination for a night on the town.
Accessorize with a fun statement earring. These starfish scored me tons of compliments and are under $2! It’s super windy in San Juan so you’ll probably end up wearing your hair up. I suggest packing a few claw clips and some hair gel.

Chances are you’ll be doing an excursion or two during your time in Puerto Rico. Don’t forget to pack a workout set and a pair of closed-toe shoes. My Hokas were perfect!
Pro tip— never travel without a fanny pack. They come in handy more times than you may think!

Have you ever seen a cuter vacation dress?! This was another Fortunate One find and it was my favorite of the trip. This spandex/mesh fabric molded to my body beautifully, sculpting out every curve.
With a small cut-out along the stomach and a deep plunging back, this dress was sexy in all the best ways. Paired with a simple white heel— these Princess Polly ones are the best. These give me a little bit of height but aren’t too tall that my feet ache but the end of the night.

We spent an afternoon exploring Old San Juan. This area is full of cute colorful buildings so now is the perfect time to wear something fun! I was so happy I wore this easy breezy linen dress— it’s much hotter in the city center since you’re not directly on the water so you’ll want something a little more breathable.
Fun raffia accessories completed this outfit perfectly.

This swimsuit is from one of my all-time favorite small businesses, Leni Swim! Not only are her suits sustainably made, but they are reversible so you get two super cute bikinis for the price of one! Such a game-changer.

I’m a maxi girl dress to my core… they are the easiest outfit after a full day in the sun. The seashell print along the bottom of this one is too cute! Couldn’t go without a matching earring.

I never travel without a little black bikini! Always my go-to when I need a little bit of a confidence boost. This one is from Dippin Daisys, one of my all-time favorite sustainable brands.
Their tops and bottoms are sold separately. I wear an XS in both. You can use code MCK15 for 15% off your purchase.
