European summer came early this year… when I had the opportunity to spend a week in Portugal this spring I knew I had to take it. With a chance to explore the city, countryside, and coastline, I just couldn’t resist.
Plus, there’s nothing better than European fashion. I packed one of my favorite suitcases to date, styling all kinds of colorful accessories and funky finds!
As always I’m sharing all the outfit ideas complete with links to shop and directions to each photo location so you can recreate these pictures for your own Instagram. For reference, I visited in late March and temperatures ranged between the high sixties and low seventies. It was truly the perfect spring weather!
Now for the outfits….
The key to a good European Summer wardrobe is a whole lot of linen! This fabric is lightweight, and super breathable which is a must when you’re walking around in the heat all day. This maxi skirt and strapless tank are sold separately but make the perfect matching set since they are the same material!
If you’re traveling in March/April temperatures will be a little cooler in the morning/evenings. I suggest bringing a denim jacket to throw over. Spicing up this neutral look with a whole lot of colorful (affordable $$$) accessories!

This denim jumpsuit was the perfect outfit for a three-hour walking tour. This denim had just enough stretch for me to move in but was the perfect weight for springtime. If you only have room for one sneaker, the Adidas Gazelle should be your pick!
They have a platform that gives you a little height and a lot of support which is absolutely necessary. Those Lisbon hills are no joke!
I always love carrying a tote in Europe… this colorful one is a splurge but oh so cute.

It doesn’t get more European than a pair of trousers… you’ll look like a local in these adorable bottoms. A lightweight breathable fabric that works for both business casual and touristy fun!
Hundreds of you purchased this vest after watching my viral TikTok. It’s the cutest piece and under $30. I’m wearing it as a top with a small pin along the chest.

You must spend an afternoon exploring the countryside! Wineries tend to have fancier dress codes so I wore this silk maxi dress from Princess Polly. This comes in a few different colors and is the perfect dress for the occasion. Use code MCKENZ20 for 20% off your purchase.
Throwing over that same denim jacket and reaching for a felt hat to keep this casual.

If you’re visiting Portugal, chances are you’re spending a day along the coastline. Highly suggest packing a scarf to tie in your hair. It’s super windy by the water so this will help tame your hair + leave you looking oh-so chic.
A few other affordable accessories elevated this basic linen top and denim skirt in no time.

I spent an incredible evening sunset sailing along the river! Although crochet, this two-piece set was double-lined making it the perfect weight. The top had a halter neckline that left my back on display… so sexy!
Had to finish off this outfit with my favorite coastal accessory… these starfish earrings are under $2 and score me compliments every time I wear them.

Is there anything better than European fashion? Every time I go back I fall in love with packing outfits a little bit more. I have to say, these were some of my favorite looks I’ve ever styled! Truly the perfect pairings for our spring itinerary too.
I’m already dreaming of a trip back!
