Kicked started my summer travels with a trip to the British Virgin Islands. I spent the week sailing around the islands, jumping in and out of the water, soaking up the sun, and sipping on fruity drinks. Not sure what to wear on your trip to the British Virgin Islands? I’ve got you covered with ten outfit ideas complete with links to shop so you can recreate these resort-ready looks.
Chances are you’ll be spending most of your trip in the water so I highly suggest packing a few swimsuits for your trip to the islands! I packed a handful but this strapless style from Honey Swim was one of my favorites. You can’t go wrong with a strapless suit for a day of tanning.
I highly suggest bringing a snorkel mask with you too. There are so many good reefs/spots to explore here so I was extra grateful I had mine this time around.

A lightweight maxi dress is my go-to when I’m packing for a tropical vacation. You don’t have to put much thought into your outfit, just slip one on with a pair of heels and you’re good to go. I accessorized this seashell print with some fun raffia accessories. You need these Hawaiian flower clips— they are the perfect hair piece to spice up our outfit.
Plus, it’s so hot and windy here that you’re better off leaving your hair up than even attempting to leave it styled down!

If you’re looking for a functional yet flattering bikini for a day of swimming, tanning, and jumping off the boat I highly suggest Dippin Daisy’s. They just released their new “Summer Camp” collection full of styles that are perfect for an active day on the water. This terry cloth fabric adds a little texture and is so soft! Use code MCK15 for 15% off your purchase.
I loved adding some fun accessories to my bikinis to spice things up— beaded necklaces and hair clips will do just the trick!

I highly suggest packing a few coverups that you can throw over your suit when you reach land. A lot of your BVI itinerary will include hopping from the ocean to the beach bar so you’ll want to be in your swimsuit while still having some type of clothes on. I’m losing this adorable crochet knit from PQ Swim!

Another cute little bikini! This one is from Aerie’s latest collection and is so comfortable. This fabric tends to stretch a little once it’s wet so I suggest going down a size. I wore this for our day at The Baths and although you can do the “hike” barefoot I suggest a waterproof sandal like Chaco’s and a water-safe bag.

Wore this amazing silk maxi dress for dinner & drinks in town and scored so many compliments on it. Although simple, this is such a pretty silhouette. I added a baby pair of block heels (these are my all-time favorite from Dolce Vita) and a cute straw bag (code MCKENZ20 for 20% off at Lulus).

This striped bikini was a fan favorite. Another Dippin Daisys top that’s supportive yet functional at the same time. If you’re a bustier girl you’ll love their underwire styles. This pattern comes in a few different types of bottoms— I’m wearing the Seaport which is their cheekiest style.

It’s an unspoken rule that you have to bring a white dress on every tropical vacation… it’s my designated “celebration” outfit. I wore this strapless mini dress to ring in my 23rd birthday! This cowl-back number is from one of my favorite resort-wear boutiques, Fortunate One. You can use code MCKENZ for 10% off your purchase!

I got so many questions on this suit when I posted it to Instagram. It’s another Honey Swim style— I love supporting this small, sustainable, woman-owned brand. They have my favorite bottoms for an active day on the water as they don’t move around at all (aka a must).

I spent my week living on a boat so I packed a few lounge pieces to wear in the evenings while we hung out. 99% of my loungewear comes from Aerie. They have the softest, most comfortable pieces that sadly go out of stock very quickly. My sweats are already sold out but my matching starfish tee is still stocked + has been a favorite on travel days!
