There’s never a bad time to plan a girl’s trip to Miami. Even in the heat of summer, there’s nothing quite like a visit to South Beach. Whether you’re going for a bachelorette party, a birthday, or just a quick weekend trip you’ll be transported to an old-school tropical oasis. Not sure what to wear in Miami? It’s a city where less is more and truly anything goes… today I’m sharing eight outfit ideas I wore on my latest visit!
*Miami is the Southernmost point of Florida also known as the hottest so regardless of when you visit it’s swimsuit season. For reference, I visited in late May and temperatures were in the upper eighties.
I’ve had this crochet coverup dress in my closet for years now and have been waiting for the perfect time to pull it out. I figured a Miami Swim Week show was its time to shine. I styled this with a tiny white bikini underneath and a huge platform pair of heels from Steve Madden. Although tall, these heels have a chunky cork wedge that makes them surprisingly very easy to walk in.
I added some square sunnies to give this even more of a retro, 70s like feel.

Whether you’re hitting the clubs or just heading to dinner, people all over the city are dressed in something short and sexy like this! I get most of my sets like this from Whitefox Boutique. I had a few in my closet and packed them all for this trip! The little mesh tanks paired with the matching low-rise skirts have a super 2000s feel to them that’s so hot!
Miami is a heels city… regardless of where you’re going girls everywhere will have a pair on. These raffia ones from LPA Revolve are my go-to!

If a mini skirt isn’t your vibe, reach for a fitted maxi instead! This will still hug your figure and sculpt out those curves! The top of this set has a beautiful cowl neckline that is super timeless. The sunset-inspired color palette made this set an instant purchase for me! So gorgeous.

I was in Miami for Miami Swim Week which meant I spent most of my week hopping from fashion show to fashion show hence why I was a little more dressed up. I saved this orange maxi dress for Sports Illustrated and received tons of compliments on this. Truly a show-stopping number from the fitted skirt to the corset bodice.

Cute, colorful, and cool in this mini moment from Whitefox Boutique. Throw on platforms and grab a straw bag to keep this semi-casual for a daytime event. Use code MCKENZIETIKTOK to save $ on your purchase.

I never go on a trip without bringing at least one Dippin Daisys bikini! This sustainable, woman-owned company is one of my favorites. Their new Terry cloth collection is to die for! They’ve got a variety of styles in each colorway/pattern but I opted for my go-to— the triangle Palm top and the string Mia bottoms.

Can’t go wrong with a casual linen set for a day of exploring. You’ll want to pack lightweight linens and easy breezy silhouettes to keep cool! This orange set was perfect for lunch + walking around with a friend. I kept things casual with a gold strappy sandal! Although these are flat, the laces help elongate the legs a bit.

You can’t come to Miami without hitting the beach. Chances are you’ll spend most of your time in a swimsuit anyway! Pack all the fun fringe, macrame, and cheeky styles. You’ll see a lot of booty cheeks on display in this city, lol. I’m wearing PQ Swim, an amazing high-end brand from the area.
Don’t forget to snap a photo by one of the iconic lifeguard stands!
