Spring break is right around the corner and a cruise is the perfect trip to book for a quick warm-weather getaway! I’ve got the perfect itinerary for you here + today I’m sharing what to wear on a cruise.
Cruising is the best because you don’t have to worry about keeping your luggage under a certain weight. And despite waking up somewhere new each day you don’t have to unpack and repack, which allows for all kinds of accessories and outfit changes.
With no dress code on my latest ship, the Margaritaville at Sea, I could keep it casual some evenings and dress up others! Here’s everything I wore on my spring break cruise complete with links to all of these vacation-ready outfit ideas.
It’s embarkation day! Highly suggest boarding your ship in something comfortable that you can wear for several hours! Your luggage doesn’t get to the room right away so you’ll want something breathable and light for an afternoon spent exploring the ship + lounging in the sun.
This little yellow sundress was the perfect weight. I popped on comfy shoes – these Archie’s flip flops have major arch support so I can spend hours on my feet in them!

Snorkel excursions are some of my favorites. Must pack a bikini and although they provide snorkel masks on board, I love bringing this cute Honey Swim one with me on my travels!

On port days I always love wearing a little two-piece set with a bikini underneath. This way you’re covered up for exploring + can hop in the water once you make your way over to a beach.
Fortunate One has all of my favorite vacation clothes. You can use code MCKENZ10 for 10% off your purchase!
I love this handmade bag from a small business for my beach days. It’s big enough to fit all of the essentials and then some but weighs nothing! Not to mention it’s super cute and comes in so many colors.

I have this set in two colors and have brought it on every cruise I’ve done now! It’s the perfect lightweight set to throw on for a day of sightseeing.
I wear this sticky bra with it (yes, it stays on even when you’re sweating buckets!). For group excursions, I like to wear a fun bright hat so that my friends can always find me

Although you don’t have to dress up when you’re cruising, I personally love doing so! No use having so many fun frilly dresses hanging in my closet otherwise!
Love this yellow number and have it paired with some chunky espadrilles.
Days at sea sailing are usually spent hanging by the pool. Coverups are required when you go inside to dine so I suggest packing a little set like this one from O Neil.
I also always make sure to pack a hat. It gets super windy sailing some days so you’ll want something to tame your hair!

A little white dress is always at the top of the packing list when going on vacation. I made sure to pack lots of fun hair accessories since most evenings on board it’s just too windy to leave my hair down!

This is another set that might look familiar because I’ve brought it on so many trips now! It’s a lightweight cotton that’s super easy to throw on after a day full of sun.
While I do love wearing a cute dress to dinner, this was totally appropriate for the vibes of this ship as most people were just wearing shorts and flip-flops to the tiki restaurants in the evenings!
