Need some outfit ideas for your next trip to Seattle? You’ve come to the right place! After years of travel guide requests for Seattle, I finally visited the Emerald City. I could’ve spent weeks exploring all Washington has to offer, but in just four days, I checked off all of the tourist hot spots and managed to hit some local hidden gems.
Of course, I did all of it in a cute outfit. Today, I’m sharing what to wear in Seattle during your winter visit. Temperatures in the city stay relatively mild year-round, but February (when I visited) is their rainiest month! Prepare for on-and-off showers and make sure to have layers packed, as weather conditions in this city can change quickly.
Despite it being the middle of winter, I had spring on my mind this week so I opted for fun colorful accessories to help brighten things up. Every day I wore a sweater with a long-sleeved thermal tee like this one underneath. With a jacket over top, I was the perfect temperature each day.
Straight-leg jeans and a low supportive boot will be your best friend as this city is big so you’ll definitely be getting your steps in!

This afternoon I was able to ditch the sweater and just wear a colorful bodysuit with a wool knee-length coat. This fuzzy pink hat and scarf combo was under $10 and scored me all the compliments from fellow tourists. Definitely a crowd favorite. I highly suggest some type of head accessory/hat while visiting— it rains on and off all day so this kept my hair a little more manageable!
These Abercrombie jeans are a staple in my closet and were one of the only pairs I reached for throughout this trip. They’ve got a good classic fit to them and no rips were a must for this weather. These Dolce Vita shoes were the best for dressing up an outfit + still keeping comfortable.

I brought a couple of fur coats and was so glad I did. They aren’t usually the warmest of coats but we had a couple of days where temperatures climbed into the fifties and a lighter jacket was perfect! Ear muffs were probably overkill but I loved them + they kept my ears feeling toasty during the wind!

If you’re coming to Seattle you have to make your way to the Needle and do this excursion. I did this solo which is why I don’t have amazing photos of this outfit (thank you to the kind strangers who took the ones I do have!) but this was the perfect outfit for the occasion so I had to share.
I layered up for the super windy day + love this $10 colorful scarf. It added a little “spring” to this outfit!

We ate at a few chic restaurants in the evenings and every night I wore some variation of this outfit. A white top + a light sweater and a fur coat were so the vibe. I wish this Tuckernuck coat was still in stock because she is a beauty!
I love wearing dark-wash low-rise jeans for a night out. These are some of my most reached-for “date night jeans” and look so good with a heeled boot!

While I absolutely loved my time in Seattle, I have to admit I’m bummed I saw it in February and not during the summer. I hear Pacific Northwest summers are unmatched and I’m dying to go back and see it in full bloom later this year. In the meantime, you can explore outfit guides for my favorite cities around the world here.
