Not sure what to wear in Canada this winter? Well, you’ve come to the right place then! I just got back from an incredible week up North. This was my first time in Canada and I fell in love with the quaint mountain town of Banff. Between a day at the ski resort and an incredible gondola ride up the mountains, our week was packed full of beautiful views, good food, and colorful outfits!
Today I’m sharing nine Canada outfit ideas to wear this winter. We visited in late February and the temperatures were in the thirties for most of the week. And although it sounds frigid, the sun was out for most of the week so it wasn’t unbearable by any means!
I was told to pack all the layers when traveling to Canada so that I did! Leggings were the easiest thing to layer on top of one another for extra warmth. Plus thick chunky sweaters and this oversized teddy coat were my best friend. You know me — I couldn’t leave for this trip without packing a few coordinating accessories. I love this fuzzy hat so much.

I may not be a skier but you bet your bottom dollar I showed up to the mountain in my snowsuit. I couldn’t have loved this outfit more if I felt so badass in this cute red number.

Seeing the Suspension Bridge was high on my bucket list as this is where Virgin River was filmed. I needed something cute and comfy for all of the walking so activewear layers were a must. I accessorized with fun colorful leg warmers, ahat, and a scarf. These snow boots were under $25 from Fashion Nova and surprisingly kept me so warm this week. I was very impressed!

Although it was cold out, it really wasn’t unbearable, especially when the sun was out. This afternoon I could even wander around without my coat on. I layered a fleece long-sleeve underneath my sweater each day + piled on a scarf and ear muffs to keep warm but other than that I was pleasantly surprised by the weather!
These Abercrombie jeans are a staple for me. Size up if you plan on layering leggings underneath.

This $15 Apres Ski sweater was a crowd fav for sure. The navy matched these leggings perfectly and I added a fun pop of color with these Canadian red accessories. Scored them for under $20 from Amazon + they made all the difference when styling cute outfits.

If you’re headed to Canada chances are you’re popping into the sauna at least once. I’ve been hanging onto this Dippin Daisys bikini for quite some time now and finally got to put her to use. How adorable is this little Apres Ski one piece?! Use code MCK15 for 15% off your entire purchase here.

On a travel day you can almost always find me in something comfy like this outfit. These Dreamy Drape jeans from American Eagle are so comfortable + stretchy. I also suggest packing a wide-leg pair of jeans so that you can easily layer a pair of leggings underneath. This cute cozy sweater is another Dippin Daisys find.
Oh, and I don’t go anywhere cold without these sherpa slip-ons— under $5o and a fast-shipping Amazon find!

This polka dot maxi moment is perfect for a dressy winter event. Whether you’re headed to a wedding, a fancy event, or just feel like dressing up for your evening out this dress is the cutest. (And super affordable too!) Pairing with my favorite gold kitten heels from Dolce Vita. Pricier but such a staple in my closet!

When in doubt, an all black moment is the answer. I should have packed a few more evening options for Banff. It was definitely a casual mountain town and therefore I was 100% overdressed in black leather pants and heels but hey, I like to keep the locals talking what can I say?!!

Well, that’s a wrap on what to wear in Canada this winter. We truly lucked out on the weather this week. Getting to see snow without being freezing was the best case scenario. I absolutely loved Banff and am dying to go back and see it in the summer time. I hear the water is crystal clear and I must make it happen sometime soon. Fingers crossed!
