Are you planning a visit to Mexico soon? I just wrapped up a short and sweet three-night stay in Puerto Vallarta, which was full of colorful swimsuits and pretty yellow dresses. I got tons of questions on these pieces over on Instagram, so today I’m linking all of these Mexico outfit ideas for you.
I spent this trip at an all-inclusive resort which I love because it’s an excuse to get “all dressed up with nowhere to go”. For reference, I visited in early April and temperatures in Puerto Vallarta were in the low eighties. It was hot but not as humid as other months/parts of Mexico I’ve visited so I was actually able to wear my hair down and sport some longer styles without sweating my tushy off!
Whenever I do a shorter trip like this one I try to choose two or three colors and stick to a “theme”. This makes packing in a carry-on so much easier! This week was yellow and blue which meant I finally got to pull this adorable bustier dress out of my closet. I’ve had this hanging up for over a year now and was waiting for the perfect occasion to finally pull it out. I’m obsessed with this number and scored hundreds of compliments on it both in person and when I posted it!
I love a Kulani Kini! They are the queen of fun tropical prints and with each release, they include a huge variety of styles that are sold separately. There are so many ways to mix and match + having so many different coverage options is a game-changer for sure.
I’m obsessed with this adorable yellow linen set. Unfortunately, it was an in-store Primark find that’s not available online but for $14 a piece, you truly can’t beat it. I’ve been wearing this nonstop!

How sexy is this dress?! I knew this was going to be the fan favorite of the trip — with a sexy underwire detail, this dress gives off just the right amount of cleavage. I paired this with my favorite starfish necklace. This is literally under $2 and instantly elevates a vacation outfit in no time.

If the UV is 12 you’ll find me in a bikini lying in a beach chair. I’m obsessed with this new yellow velvet bikini from Triangl. Their pieces run super tiny so I suggest sizing up one in both the tops and bottoms if you’re planning on ordering. And the best part about ordering from them is the neoprene swim bag that comes with it. I use these as packing cubes all the time.
My purse is from my favorite local Saint Pete designer. I have this style in three colors now and bring one on every trip because it fits so much. She’s started selling these online too so I have her storefront linked below.

I felt like a real-life Aquamarine in this silk dress from Fortunate One. They truly have the best vacation clothes— you can use my code MCKENZIEFO for 10% off. Starfish earrings effortlessly pulled this outfit together. These are another $2 find!

If you know me you know how much I love a Honey Swim bikini. Their quality is truly unmatched + they have so many fun tropical prints out right now. I wear a size small in both their tops and bottoms. Even their cheekier styles are on thefuller coverage side of things so if you’re in need of something that’s on the family-friendly side, this is the spot!
I’ve got to be comfy for a travel day — even if I’m flying somewhere warm you’ll catch me in a matching sweat suit. You guessed it… I had a yellow one on, of course! Hollister sweats are some of my favs. Quality is unreal and they always have bright colorways which I love. I got stopped numerous times in the airport about this colorful combo and I have to say, that’s how I like to be remembered!
