20 Gift Ideas For Mother’s Day 2021

It was late last weekend that my mom looked at me and asked if I was going to be posting a Mother’s Day gift guide. Truthfully, I wasn’t planning on it—I figured my gift guides from Christmas time would suffice. However, after a whopping 95% of you responded “Yes” to needing a Mother’s Day gift guide via Instagram stories, I figured this post was definitely necessary.

So, here we go! Rounding up 20 gift ideas for that special lady in your life. Mother’s Day is right around the corner (Sunday, May 9) so make sure to get your orders in ASAP to get everything in time!

BruMate— Naturally, I turned to my own mom for some of her best gift ideas. At the very top of her list was a BruMate. These keep your drink cold for hours and have a non-slip grip along the bottom. They have various different styles, so I will leave a handful linked down below. However, her favorite is the Hopsulator Slim which is designed to fit a 12oz seltzer can. If she’s a White Claw lover, a fresh pack and a can coozie would make the perfect gift.
Cute Tote— Alongside that list was also a cute tote. Spring is the perfect time for a wardrobe refresh, especially in the purse department. My mom has been eyeing this one from Banana Republic, although I linked a few favorites. I’ve been hearing wonderful things about the Lululemon belt bags too!
New Sneakers— Nobody’s ever been upset about receiving new sneakers! Rothy’s is a sustainable shoe company that repurposes plastic water bottles into their signature thread. They have an awesome mission and are supposedly very comfortable. I’ve yet to try a pair but I’ve heard several bloggers rave. I’ve got several favorite sneakers of my own that I’ll leave linked as well.
Personalized Jewelry— You can never go wrong with a dainty jewelry piece for Mother’s Day. Go personalized with her child’s initials, “mama”, or even her monogram. I just received a few pieces from a small business, Locally Made 13, that I love. She can customize all kinds of pieces under $15! I also love Ana Luisa for simple, everyday gold jewels and Kendra Scott for timeless pendents.
Shutterfly Album— I had the Shutterfly Album idea in my Christmas gift guide but it was too good of an idea not to include in this one too! I’ve always felt like Mother’s Day is more about the thought than the price tag. Round up your favorite photos together and create a cute scrapbook on their site. They make it super easy and are always running deals this time of year.
Slippers— I cannot and will not shut up about my Ugg slippers. I know that platforms aren’t everyone’s style but they score me compliments all the time. My mom swears by her Sorell’s + I found some other less expensive options for my peeps on a budget!
Air Fryer— If you don’t have an air fryer by now, you need one. We use ours for everything—steaks, frozen chicken tenders, leftovers, you name it! Not only does everything cooked in it taste amazing but it’s such a timesaver too. Definitely a must for cutting down kitchen time.
Dyson Air Wrap— I swear everyone and their mother (literally) has a Dyson Air Wrap but me! Perhaps it’s because my Instagram feed is so saturated with bloggers but I swear I see someone talking about this thing every single day! It is without a doubt the priciest hot tool you will ever purchase but it leaves your hair looking fresh out of the salon. Plus, I’ve been told it is less damaging than other tools. One day I’ll crack and buy it…
Facial Steamer— Another item I hear about constantly but have yet to try myself is a facial steamer. I’m not sure I have the patience to sit and get my face steamed but I know many woman make this a priority in their night time routine to help relax + unwind.
Pajamas— You can’t go wrong with a fresh pair of pajamas. I love a good matching set and have linked everything from silk shorts to cotton bottoms for ya!
KitchenAid Mixer— I’ve always imagined the day I buy my twin sister her very own KitchenAid Mixer. She dreamed of getting one as a kid and I envision myself finally getting her one when she moves into her first home. Hopefully that is many years from now though because they cost a pretty penny, lol. Regardless, these make an awesome gift and are something she’ll use for many years to come.
Coffee “Accessories”— My mom isn’t a coffee drinker but I know most are. Perhaps a new mug, a frother, or even a Keurig are on her wishlist. Or I’m sure a gift card to Starbucks would be a sweet treat too!
Lulu Leggings— The Lululemon craze doesn’t seem to end in your teens or even your twenties. I’ve got mommy bloggers raving over Align leggings all over my Instagram feed these days. My mom is a fan herself and has several pairs of their bottoms. Their joggers make for a polished “work from home” outfit.
Candles— Oh how I love a fresh candle. I miss the days when we were able to walk into Bath & Body Works and smell every single one. It’s just not the same when wearing a mask, lol. You’ll have to trust my gut on some of these recommendations. Champagne Toast is what’s currently burning in my apartment.
Your Mother’s Story— I read dozens of gift guides before writing my own to gather a few final ideas. I saw a few people recommend this journal and loved the idea so much, I just had to include it. This is a wonderful gift for a new mom—this journal gives you small prompts to fill out throughout your child’s life, discussing their habits, interests, memories, etc. When the journal is full, you give it to them to read. My mom and I used to write back and forth to one another for years and it’s one of my fondest memories together. I love this idea and can promise you it’s something she will cherish forever!
Custom Pillow— If you’ve lost a loved one recently, I highly recommend this gift idea. My mom actually makes and sells these herself. Basically, people send her photos of their loved one’s handwriting and she is able to transform it into a digital file and print this onto a pillowcase. When my aunt passed a few years ago, my mom took her signature and made it into pillows for all of us nieces, aunts, and kids and it was such a special gift idea. 10/10 recommend. Click here to shop.
Mani-Pedi— When Madison and I were younger we used to always give my mom a gift certificate to the nail salon. It’s not something she treats herself to often but I know she loves going. Plus, some alone time is always appreciated.
Weekend Getaway— I never understood the whole weekend getaway things as a kid but now that I’m older, I see the value in being away from your children for a few days, lol. With Covid vaccines rolling out and restrictions being lifted, perhaps your mom would like a weekend stay somewhere. I know Nashville is on our bucket list. Plan a girls weekend or treat your parents to some time alone.
Flowers— Flowers are a never fail! Make sure to go right when the store opens as they sell out very quickly the day of. My mom recommends Farm Girl Flowers. They have the most beautiful bouquets. I highly recommend going this route if you live far away but still want to make your mom’s day special.
A Nice Dinner— Although a fancy dinner at her favorite restaurant would make a good “experience” gift, my mom’s one true wish is that we’d plan dinner (and cook it) without her having to ask. Sometimes the small things mean just as much!
