Guide to Colorado

Did you know Colorado is the sunniest state of them all? You may be shocked to hear it’s not somewhere on a beach…. Despite having long winters and lots of snow Colorado experiences more sunny days annually than any other state. Snowy winters and huge mountain regions draw in millions of tourists each year looking to ski, snowboard, and explore the quaint resort towns. National Parks Rocky Mountain, Great Sand Dunes, and Mesa Verde are amongst the most beautiful in the United States offering beautiful landscapes for camping, hiking, and exploring.

There’s so much wildlife here— if you’re lucky you might even spot some buffalo!

Growing up my dad always told me stories about the summer he lived in Denver. I’ve always dreamed of getting to explore all the state has to offer. My time here was short but it’s high on my list to revisit when I finally pull the trigger on that cross country road trip I keep thinking about!

What I Packed:

SNOW BOOTS: We trekked out to the mountains to see the snow and it was deep. Definitely don’t want to forget your snow boots here.

WINTER WEATHER ACCESSORIES:  hat, gloves, and scarves are all necessary if you’re planning on a wintery weekend in the mountains.

SNOW GEAR: Gear is available for rent although prices can get pretty steep at the resorts. Packing your own saves stress and money.

KEEP IT CASUAL: People are generally very laid back here and the dining/atmosphere generally reflects that. Denver in particular is a very laid-back city. Casual tops, cargos, and sneakers will do just fine!
