Guide to France

Bonjour! I’m a firm believer that everyone needs to make it to France at least once in their life. Its iconic landmarks, timeless elegance, and undeniable romance make it a bucket-list destination for travelers around the world.

Its capital city, Paris, also known as the “City of Love” is the romantic backdrop every girl dreams of. A dinner boat cruise past the Eiffel Tower, a fresh croissant at a local bakery, a taste of royalty at the Louvre… it all sounds just magical. And it is!

Of course, France is so much more than just Paris. If you’re lucky enough to hit the French Riviera you must for beautiful rocky beaches and colorful coastlines. Fresh seafood, gorgeous sunsets, and amazing vintage stores make this spot a traveler’s delight during the summertime.

The chicest country you’ll ever visit… indulge in it!

What I Packed for France:

COMFY SHOES- I recommend bringing your favorite trendy sneakers & a pair of seasonal boots.

JACKET- If you’re visiting the city/countryside, pack a knee length coat.

LAYERS- Bring long sleeves, sweaters, button-ups, and jackets so that you can mix and match.

TIGHTS- Paris is a tights city. No need to leave your mini skirts and dresses in your summer closet.

TIPS & TRICKS

What to Expect

LANGUAGE:

The official language of France is French.

SAFETY:

Generally, France is a very safe country to travel as a solo female traveler. However, pickpockets are heavy in the city of Paris. I highly suggest a crossbody bag that you can keep close to you at all times.

CREDIT CARDS/ATMS:

Cards are widely accepted in France, many areas accepting Apple Pay as well. *Discover is not accepted in most European countries, VISA is typically the best option. ATMs are available and easy to find, especially in major cities.

CURRENCY:

The French currency is the Euro

HIGH SEASON:

High Season: June-August Low Season: November-March There really isn’t a bad time to visit France but I will say it’s magical to see Paris at Christmas time as the Christmas markets are in full swing. However, the French Riviera is phenomenal during “shoulder season”. Visiting in September/October you will still enjoy warm weather and the ocean without the horrors of having no air conditioning!
