Guide to Georgia

There’s nothing sweeter than a Georgia peach! I roadtripped here in 2023 and had an absolute blast getting to explore this charming state. Georgia is in the Deep South which as you know has a vibe of its own. The tea is a little sweeter, the boys a little more gentlemanly, and the way of life a little slower.

Georgia was the last of the 13 colonies to be founded with Savannah being the first “planned” city in the US. It’s packed full of history and charm— two of the best ingredients! I love cities where everything is within walking distance of one another. Adorable local shopping, tons of restaurants, a surprisingly hopping nightlife (this is a popular Bachelorette/21st birthday destination), and tons of historical tours. Take a trolley ride through the squares and visit the incredible mansions.

Have lunch under a Spanish moss tree. Indulge in all the Southern comfort food. No trip to Georgia is complete without a taste of shrimp and grits.

And take a ghost tour… no matter how silly it may seem. They’re deeply rooted in the Georgia culture and so fun!

I suggest visiting in April or May. Temperatures will be warm and in the seventies but you’ll miss the unbearable humidity and rain that late summer brings to the area.

What I Packed for Georgia:

GIRLY DRESSES: Now’s the time to pull out your favorite little sundresses.

LINENS: If you’ve never experienced southern heat you’re in for a treat.

HATS: My hair is no friend to humidity so I packed a few rancher hats and wore them daily.

WALKING SHOES: You’ll be walking nearly everywhere as most things are just a few miles apart. Comfy flat shoes are a must.

So much history & southern charm in Savannah

Southern comfort food is the best!
