Guide to Nevada

Planning a road trip out West? Nevada needs to be on your itinerary! This state is an adventure junkie’s dream destination. From desert trails to bright city lights, Nevada has tons to offer. Whether you’re craving a National Park visit or are looking to embrace your inner Elvis with a trip to Las Vegas, you can be one of the 50 million people who travel here each year.

With more than 300 named mountain ranges and thousands of miles of trails, hikers delight in visiting Nevada. Hoover Dam, Lake Tahoe, and Red Rock Canyon are all must-hit spots. Of course, Death Valley is one of the most popular National Parks.

After a few weeks of backpacking and embracing the great outdoors, you might be ready to grab a hotel for the night. Head to Las Vegas for the weekend! Did you know the city has over 150,000 hotel rooms? That’s more than anywhere in the world!

Hit “The Strip” to try and win big—gambling was first legalized here in 1931 so it should come as no surprise that Vegas houses over 150 casinos. Whether you want to test your luck, sip a fruity cocktail, catch a live entertainment show, or party at a rooftop pool, Vegas is the spot.

Although rowdy and overrun with tourists, it’s loads of fun. Don’t forget to snap a picture by the Las Vegas sign!

It’s hard to believe temperatures in Nevada dip below freezing in the winter when the summers are well above 100! This region experiences dry heat which means temperatures climb high without the humidity. Despite it, you’ll still be sweating; I can promise you that.

You can pay for everything with card here. Most places accept VISA, Discover, Mastercard and AMEX. ATMs are easily accesible.
