YEE-HAW Tennessee is one of my favorite states! Whether you’re taking a 21st birthday trip to Honky Tonk down or wanting to unplug and camp in The Great Smokey Mountains you’re sure to fall in love with it.
Their largest city Nashville is a growing hot spot for post-grads and is ranked first for best bachelorette party destination in the United States. A full strip of bars playing country, rock, and old-school favorites every day of the week is an adult’s playground. I could spend days on end drinking to live music and never get bored.
Of course, there’s shopping, sports, and tons of concerts happening in the area so regardless of what you’re looking for, they’ve got it.
If you have a chance, you must drive through the countryside. You’ll see some of the prettiest mountains the US has to offer. I could spend weeks driving through Knoxville, Memphis, and Gatlinburg. If you’re looking for a cowboy, here’s where you’ll find him!

CLIMATE:
Most of Tennessee has a sub-tropical climate however the changes in elevation leave some mountain ranges and areas in the Oceanic/Highland climate! Temperatures do dip down in the winter but the season is short with temperatures warming up early in the air. They experience long, hot, humid summers so plan accordingly. My favorite time to visit is in May— you beat a lot of tourists and vacationers and get warm (not hot!) weather.
CREDIT CARDS/ATMS:
You can pay for everything with card here. Most places accept VISA, Discover, Mastercard and AMEX. ATMs are easily accesible.
