On Sunday, my family and I celebrated Easter Sunday and the rising of our sweet Jesus. Along with my family, I am sure many others celebrated this holiday as well. For many, this day symbolizes a restored faith, family, and of course candy in all sorts. On Sunday morning my family went to mass before we headed to a relative’s house to have dinner and visit with several other family members. The day was well spent and I really enjoyed my outfit so I decided to share with you how I got ready for the day. Keep reading to see how I did my hair, makeup, and what I wore!
Hair- I got my hair trimmed over spring break and it has been in loose curls ever since. I wasn’t planning on doing anything super fancy to my hair for the occasion so I simply took it out of its pony-tail combed through it and added a few loose curls with my 1 1/2′ Conair Curling Iron here and there to create an overall tousled, voluminous look. To finish it off I sprayed it with the Got2BGlued Freezeblast Hairspray and ran my fingers through the curls to give it more of a relaxed vibe.
Makeup- Something about spring break always makes me want to wear less makeup. For this look, I tried to keep the face makeup minimal while still enhancing my features. Plus I wanted to create an eyeshadow look using my Naked 3 palette.
To begin the look I started off by priming my face with the Bare Minerals Porefessionals Primer. I decided to stick with my Maybelline Fit Me Concealer for the day to conceal my undereyes and any blemishes I may have. To set the concealer I used my trusty Rimmel Stay Matte Powder.
I then went in with a dense contouring brush and contoured my cheek bones, temples, and nose with the Anastasia Contour Kit. To bring some color back into my face I used the Wet N Wild Blush in the shade ‘Pearlescent’. I then went in with the shade ‘Vanilla’ from the Anastasia Contour Kit and highlighted the high points of my cheeks, bridge of my nose, cupids bow, and brow bone.
To begin the eyes I am starting with my two usuals, the Urban Decay Primer Potion to ensure that my shadows do not crease and the Maybelline Color Tattoo in the shade ‘Barely Branded’ to keep my shadows from wearing off throughout the day. I am then packing on the shade ‘Virgin’ from the Naked Basics palette onto my lids.
For the crease I am mixing the two shades ‘Limit’ and ‘Buzz’ from the Naked 3 palette and applying them on a crease brush. To add some more definition and darken up the look I am applying the shades ‘Nooner’ and ‘Liar’ to my outer v with a dense crease brush. I am then filling and shaping my brows with the Anastasia Dip Brow in the shade ‘Blonde’.
I am then applying several coats of the Maybelline Chaotiques Mascara to my upper and lower lashes and finishing off the eyes by carving out my brows and highlighting them with the shade ‘Virgin’ once again from the Naked Basics palette. To complete the look I am applying the Buxom Full On Lip Cream in the shade ‘White Russian’.
Outfit- Many of you probably remember this velvet dress from my latest ‘Get Ready With Me’ which was for my school’s spring formal dance. It was such a steal at only $16 from Nordstrom Rack and can easily be dressed up or down. For Easter, I simply paired the pink velvet dress with a necklace from Charming Charlies and some gold Palm Beach Sandals for a simple yet put together look. I was so pleased with how the outfit came out and it was perfect for a warm morning mass!
Well, that’s a wrap for today’s ‘Get Ready With Me’. I hope you all enjoyed this look! How did you spend your Easter Sunday?! Let me know in the comments below, along with any other questions. comments, or requests you may have for me. Wishing you all the best day ahead. With love, McKenz.
