GRWM- Summer Day (Hair, Makeup, and Outfit)

Summer is here, everyone and to say I’m happy about it is an understatement. With that being said I obviously have days where I want to laze around for hours and stay in my pajamas all day but there are times when I do find the motivation to get up and actually do something with my day. After all, getting ready for the day will truly make you feel and be more productive. So, here’s how I get ready for the days I just described.

Hair- I love morning showers to start off my day but they are just such an inconvenience throughout the school year so right now I am taking full advantage of them. After hopping out of the shower I’m combing out my hair and applying a bit of mousse into it to add some volume to my rather flat hair. Afterward, I’m simply blowing it dry and then leaving it natural for the rest of the day. If I’m not taking blog pictures/filming that day I prefer to give my hair a bit of rest from the curling iron.

Makeup- This is pretty much the closest thing to my daily makeup routine in the summer if I plan on wearing any makeup at all: a foundation-free face and the simplest eye makeup.

Using moisturizer in the summer with SPF is so important for your skin. Today I’m using the Cerave Moisturizer and applying a generous amount all over my face before applying any makeup.

To prime my face I am taking the Nivea Men’s Shave Balm and applying this all over my face. This will ensure that my face makeup will stay on all day and will not sweat off!

Rather than wearing foundation in the summer all day, I prefer to use a concealer to conceal my under eyes and to cover any redness/discoloration I may have that day. To do so I am using the Maybelline Fit Me Concealer; it is so perfect for everyday use.

Then, I am taking the Rimmel Stay Matte Powder and applying this all over my face. This is my favorite powder all year round but I especially love it in the summer to keep my face matte all day. I am then taking the banana powder from my Anastasia Contour Kit and applying this under my eyes to set the concealer that I previously applied there.

At this point in the year, my face is much paler than my body so I’m warming up my whole face with the contour shade from the Elf Contouring & Blush Duo. This adds the perfect glow and really helps even out my skin tone.

After bronzing up my face I was feeling as if my face was lacking some color so I popped on the blush from the Elf Contouring & Blush Duo to add some life to my face. This color is gorgeous for the summer and I love the light sparkles in it.

For the eyes I’m keeping it simple by filling in my brows with the Maybelline Brow Precise. I prefer pencil over my Dip Brow in the summer (and with this look) because it gives off a much more natural look. I am then applying a few coats of the Maybelline Cat Eyes Mascara in the waterproof formula to ensure no smudging throughout the day and to really open up my eyes. To finish off the look I’m applying the Maybelline Color Whisper in the shade ‘Tough As Taupe’ for a natural, wearable lip color.

And ta-da! Just like that there’s a simple, wearable everyday makeup look for the summer time.

Outfit- For the outfit, I’m wearing a bright orange tee that screams summer in my opinion. It’s super soft and was on super sale at Old Navy! Paired with my tee I’m wearing these high-waisted denim shorts from Gap that were featured in yesterday’s haul. For the shoes I’m wearing some beaded, pom-pom lace ups from Target and wearing a  few bangles to tie the look together.
