April Favorites

Another month has flown by yet again and I’m honestly not even disappointed by it. This month I have been really focused on school and working on getting this site up and running. Plus, I was able to take a well-deserved break and I got to travel to NYC with my mom and sissy for a few days! Although, I am happy for a fresh start because May brings warmer weather, the sunshine, and my birthday (woohoo)! Oh, and of course with the end of the school year nearing I am ready to push hard and finish strong. Anyways, today is about recapping April and sharing with you what I’ve been loving lately. 

April came with lots of rain as expected and many cloudy days. However, it was rather hot for April and I am totally not complaining about the warmth! Therefore, my outfits reflected the weather. I got some good use out of my rain attire and completely fell in love with these black block heels from Target. My favorite piece of the month was definitely neck scarves. They add such a nice touch to a simple outfit and have served as the perfect spring accessory.  And as you can tell I clearly had a thing for ruffles this month too! I also wore the heck out of my tortoise sunglasses from Michael’s.  

Yes, I am human, therefore the bottom of my shoes are in fact dirty.

As far as makeup goes, I have been trying to give my face a break at least once a week. Now that I am writing it, I realize it sounds like a silly goal to have but for me, that is an accomplishment in itself. That being said, the Maybelline Fit Me Concealer has been such a go-to for me! It wears so well with only a powder over top and the coverage is incredible, especially in being from the drugstore.  I have also loved the Maybelline Cat Eyes Mascara. It does an amazing job at lengthening the lashes and layers so nicely with my Better Than Sex Mascara from Too Faced. 

My favorite page in my Bible this month, was without a doubt this one from Jonah. My friend, Gb recommended that I read these verses a while back and I absolutely adored them and the lesson that Jonah shares. If you are a Bible reader, I highly recommend reading all of Jonah. It is rather short so it is a good weekly read!

As far as my TV watching goes, I am still watching Gilmore Girls and have made it to season 5! It is getting so good and I cannot wait to see what happens with Luke and Lorelai. And for music this month I have had Ed Sheran’s new album ‘Divide’ on repeat!

Now it’s time to talk goals! Last month I set a new goal to reach 2,200 Instagram followers. Unfortunately, my goal was not met this month. However, I am going to continue to work towards this goal in the month of May. I am also not terribly surprised or disappointed for not reaching this goal because my sole focus for the month of April was getting my new website up and running, which obviously has been proven successful. I am not going to be too terribly concerned with my blog following count this month either because I would rather focus on working out the kinks to my new site to make it ‘perfect’.  (Ps: to my WordPress friends, have you been seeing my posts in the reader?!)Well, what were you up to this month?
