Boy oh by was September a jam-packed month. With school’s start, cheer in full swing, hours of homework each night, and all sorts of extracurricular activities I am feeling
extremely drained these days. However, the busyness and structure that September has brought actually seems good for me and has kept me on my toes. Aside from having limited time to blog, I am so pleased with the growth that I have experienced this past month.
As always, I’m here to wrap up all my favorites throughout the month of September and share with you this month’s happenings. If you want to catch up on any of this month’s blog posts or just listen to me ramble on for a while, then you’re in luck because here we go…
Starting off with the fashion, as per usual. This month consisted of some hot temperatures, to say the least, so the idea of “Fall” fashion was extremely limited. There were a few times where I’d fake it till I made it because I want to start wearing booties and such but for the most part, I’ve been embracing the fact that I have a few more weeks to wear sandals and tanks. Therefore, this month I really loved my black mules, again. Despite them being the most uncomfortable shoe by the end of the day, they are so cute and really pull an outfit together in my opinion. I also fell in love with my Jaylen wedges from DSW that are the perfect shoe for these Fall transition weeks. I’ve been wearing a ton of BellaDesignsByBree pieces to up my jewelry game and have completely embraced wearing jumpsuits, rompers, dresses, etc rather than pants to keep things fun in terms of my wardrobe. There are so many things I want to wear before the Fall weather officially arrives so be prepared to see even more outfits throughout the next few weeks.
Now that school is back in session I’ve been getting ready each morning in a routinely fashion. I have loved the Wet N Wild Highlighter in ‘Precious Petals’ and have been continuously wearing the Buxom Full On Lipstick in ‘Brooklynn’ for game days (a Get ready With Me will be going up soon so stay tuned!) or the Buxom Lip Gloss in ‘White Russian’. If you’ve visited my blog even once you’re probably aware that these are practically the only two lip products I ever wear because they are just that good. Lastly, I’ve changed up my brow game a little bit recently and completely strayed away from the Dip Brow that I had fallen in love with this time last year. I’ve been simply penciling them in with an old brown eyeliner due to me running out of the previous eyebrow product I had been using, and love it as it gives off a much more natural look.
I’ve continued to read Luke this month but am still nowhere near finished. I find it hard to make time to read my Bible throughout the school week which sounds awful since I can always find time for five minutes on my phone but at the end of the day when I am so distraught and ready to sleep I find it hard to fully soak up the message that His words so generously provide at all hours of the day. Therefore I’ve devoted Sundays to a more intense reading time to help me better focus and keep in the habit of reading. I read these verses recently and have really loved them as they describe the idea of light and darkness and our ability to determine which form shows through. I highly recommend checking these verses out if you’re in need of something inspiring to read.
The last time I checked in on my Netflix watching’s I was finishing up The Secret Life of An American Teenager. I was so disappointed with how they left the show ending but I really enjoyed the series nonetheless. I began watching One Tree Hill again but am only a few episodes in as I have zero free time and no patience to sit and watch tv knowing I could be doing ten other things that would be far more productive.
Last month I set some pretty vague and simple goals for my blog and Instagram that way I wouldn’t be discouraged and uninspired if I did not meet them which was a very good idea because I had a really rough month for views and keeping up with posting. However, I still met both of my goals. This month I’m going to aim for 2,550 Instagram followers and to post 20 times on my blog! I am so excited for October, my favorite month, to be here so I am even more thrilled to be posting content that I am incredibly passionate about and am genuinely excited to be posting for you all! Therefore if you have any ideas or posts you may want to see next month be sure to let me know!!!
Okay, okay, I suppose that’s enough chatting for now. If you want to hear even more about my weeks be sure to catch up on my Weekly Wrap Up’s that go up every Sunday here on styledbymckenz. Thank you all so much for stopping by! I hope you all have had a fabulous September and enjoy your weekend! With love, McKenz
