Get Ready With Me- Junior Year Homecoming (Hair, Makeup, Outfit)

Hello, friends and welcome back to StyledbyMcKenz! As I mentioned in my latest Weekly Wrap Up, Saturday evening was my school’s homecoming dance. I had the most amazing time and it felt so good to get dressed up for the night in something I felt confident and happy in. Because I always post a ‘Get Ready With Me’ for dances, I figured it would only be right to stick with it and share with you how I did my hair and makeup for Saturday. Stay tuned!

Makeup-

  To begin the look, I primed my face with the Lorac Pro Pore Perfection Primer. For how hot and sweaty I was during the dance, I am so impressed with how this kept my makeup on throughout the night; it hardly moved.

• I then applied the Wet N Wild Photo Focus Foundation on a damp beauty blender all over my face to even out my complexion.
• To set the foundation, I used none other than the Rimmel Stay Matte Powder to keep me matte for as long as possible.
• For the under eyes I used the Maybelline Fit Me Concealer as per usual and set it with the Banana powder from the Anastasia Contour Kit.
• To accentuate my facial features I used the darkest shade in the Anastasia Contour Kit and contoured my cheekbones, temples, and nose.
• To brighten up my face a bit, I used the peach shade from the ELF Blush Quad and applied this to the apples of my cheeks.
• Next, I highlighted the high points of my face with the Wet N Wild Highlighter in the shade ‘Precious Petals’. This step completely changed the dynamic of the look!
• For the eyes I began by priming with the Urban Decay Primer Potion and then applying the true game changer as far as eyeshadow goes, the Maybelline Color Tattoo in the shade ‘Barely Branded’ to keep my shadows popping all night long.
• I used the Too Faced Chocolate Bar palette tonight and did an eyeshadow look that I do fairly often as I love how the shadows complement my eyes. For the lid, I applied the shade ‘Marzipan’ all over, really packing it on there to get as much pigment as possible. I then applied the shade ‘Salted Carmel’ to my crease and then defined the look as a whole using the shade ‘Garnet’ from my Lorac Pro palette.
• I decided to wear falsies again this year, sticking to ELF’s standard lashes and blending my natural lashes into them with the Maybelline Cat Eyes Mascara. 
• For the brows I strayed away from my pencil for the night and carved them out with the Anastasia Dip Brow.
• To finish off the look I applied a matte liquid lipstick from NYX in the shade ‘Push Up’.

Hair-

I kept things pretty standard for me and curled my hair tightly with a one and a half-inch curling iron. I decided not to shake the curls out because I knew they would fall as the night progressed (which they did) which was a very good idea on my part in the end. I liked how big my hair looked + used so much of the uSmooth hairspray to keep it in place for as long as possible.

Outfit- 

In one of my previous hauls, I mentioned that I had picked up my homecoming dress but wasn’t planning on sharing it with you until the actual day of the dance which I ended up sticking to (surprisingly!). I found this beauty for $22 at Nordstrom Rack and immediately fell in love. The green was an absolutely stunning shade that complimented my eyes so beautifully + the studs on it totally reminded me of something Blake Lively would wear. My three-inch block heels are from Target and were quite comfortable compared to previous heels I’ve worn.
