Hello, friends and welcome back to StyledbyMcKenz. It’s officially time for another monthly favorites + happenings post. March has been nothing short of crazy busy in terms of school work, extracurriculars, and racking up some new favorites. Today I’ll be rambling on for quite some time- I hope you’re as excited as I am! Without further adieu, let’s jump right in.
My style has truly been all over the place this month- something I have blamed not only on the unpredictable weather and awkward temperatures but on my lack of inspiration in terms of what to wear. However, that didn’t stop me from having a few favorites. I have been wearing this pink floppy hat and pink crossbody bag from Old Navy like crazy! They are the perfect accessories for the spring, and being my favorite color, work as an awesome accent color for a basic look. I didn’t wear anything to school this month that I was super in love with so I included a few of my lookbook outfits above- unfortunately it’s been too cold to actually dress like this.
I included my Hunters and these black slip-on mules from Details Boutique as well. I have been wearing rain boots like crazy because they are super practical for me when on the baseball field, being extremely durable + they match all of my school spirit wear which I have also been frequently wearing. The mules are super comfy and have served as the perfect walking shoe for me over spring break along with my light pink New Balance sneakers. I’ve been about practicality this month as far as style goes and it’s looking like April will be similar in this way!
My beauty routine has changed up a little bit this month. I used the Neutrogena Hydro Boost skincare line for a sponsored post and ended up loving it so much that I have stuck with the line for the whole month; my skin has really enjoyed their products and they are keeping my skin extra clear + hydrated throughout these frigid months.
I switched to the blackest black Great Lash mascara this month and have been pleasantly surprised; I like it much better than the regular Great Lash mascara that I was previously using. I also won a giveaway from RealHer makeup this month and have enjoyed the blush set so much- the mauve color is gorgeous and has been perfect for the spring months.
Faith-
My Lent project has gone so well and although Lent will be coming to an end for us Catholics in just a couple of days, I have really established habits that I will continue to practice throughout the coming months. As far as my Bible reading goes, I am still keeping up with Isiah, slow and steady I am getting through the chapters. I’m starting to understand that it’s not about how many pages you read a week but about the takeaway from the pages you’ve read.
Entertainment-
I’ve been watching more Friends this month and have loved it. I did a 90’s lookbook around this time last year it is still one of my most viewed blog posts to date. I have greatly considered doing a Friends inspired lookbook for each season and am genuinely curious if this something you all would be interested in! Let me know below because I am seriously considering it.
I’ve listened to The Greatest Showman soundtrack a lot this month along with a lot of classic rock- mostly because that’s the playlist we listen to most often at baseball practice. Nonetheless, I really do enjoy it! I’ve read a few books this month and have enjoyed them all- I’m currently keeping up with Patricia Cornwell’s ‘All That Remains’.
Looking Ahead/Goals-
I’ve pretty much given up on every goal that I’ve set- and I hate to feel this way because I am such a goal oriented worker, thriving off of the drive to achieve something greater. However, my blog just feels stuck. I not only haven’t been growing but I haven’t even been maintaining everything that I worked so hard to build up. The worst part is that I am working just as hard, if not harder to establish new relationships with other bloggers, brands, and my real life viewers. I suppose this rut is something that all bloggers go through, but it has been so incredibly discouraging this month.
That being said, this month I am not going to be setting any number based goals simply because I do not want to feel discouraged or set expectations that cannot be met. I will be aiming to keep up with my uploading schedule for another month, I have been so good about it this year and want to continue! I also do hope to post more frequently on Instagram to build more relationships on that tricky platform as well. Aside from that, we will see how this month goes!
Life-
Although I have felt the dreariness of March in more ways than simply the weather, I have surprisingly had a lot of fun. March started spring sports at my high school and my best friend Lily and I decided to manage the Varsity Baseball team. We know more now than we did when we began (thank God) and have made friends with some of the sweetest people- I’m so glad that she pushed me to do this with her. Not only have I established new relationships, but it has given me something huge to do with my time which has been super good for me and my mental health.
Aside from that, I’ve been tumbling a little bit this month and stretching out- trying to stay acclimated for cheer season by doing the bare minimum, lol. I’m currently on spring break and am just finishing up a trip to the Carolinas for a handful of college visits with the fam; choosing a college has proved to be tedious yet absolutely necessary. Oh, I almost forgot- I also found my prom dress, volunteered at a pancake breakfast and went to my school play this month- March was definitely a busy one!
Alright alright, now that I’ve rambled on for far too long, I suppose I will sign off. I’m looking forward to a busy April but an exciting one at that- the end of the school year will be here before we know it and I cannot wait. Until then I’ll be hanging around my WordPress reader and the baseball field. I’ll catch y’all tomorrow. Hope you have an awesome week! If you have any questions, comments, or requests be sure to leave them in the comments below. With love, McKenz

I LOVE THE GREATEST SHOWMAN😍😍 I fell in love when I saw it at the theatree
Me too omg- it was so so good. I cannot wait to grab it on DVD!
I can’t wait to see your prom dress. Even with crazy weather, you manage to dress beautifully! Love that cross body bag. Also, I have been wanting Hunter boots for-ev-er. Are they as amazing as they seem?!
Hi Allie!! I am so excited to share my dress but I do want to wait until the dance to reveal to build the suspense LOL! The corssbody is a favorite of mine for sure and my Hutners are my go to. I got them for $80 at Costco actually a few years ago- they sold them for half off there for a whole season. They are heavy but so durable- I cannot imagine not having them- they are so perfect for this baseball season as they can easily get dirty and are my school color!
Wow! Your calligraphy in your bible looks beautiful. By the way… if you like friends, you should watch Rules of Engagment on Netflix! It’s a great show.😊 —https://emilyryannblogblog.wordpress.com/
Thank you girlfriend! I will have to check that series out- thank you for the recommendation xoxox
