The Pre-Prom Preparation​ Checklist

I don’t know about you, but Prom has been the only thing the ladies at my school can talk about lately. With the special night only a few days away, (ours is this Friday) I decided to round-up a checklist of things to be done before the day arrives in hopes to look and feel your best!

• Find the perfect dress- My school’s Prom seems pretty early this year so chances are you may not have already found your dress yet. There are popular prom dress stores around me that several girls go to but there are also affordable options online that are stunning as well. I recommend finding something you will feel comfortable and confident in + always remember that you ever know until you try it on!
• Figure out the flowers- Corsages, boutonnieres, and even flowers in your hair are all things that should be figured out after choosing your dress. Flowers often times can change the whole aesthetic of a look. Plus, stunning accent makes all the difference.
• Paint those nails- I’m never one to go and get a manicure but I’m seriously considering treating myself for the special night. My cuticles are looking extra rough and it always feels good to have a fresh coat of polish on. If gel nails or acrylics aren’t your thing, go for some regular polish that will coordinate well with your dress or even an accent color if you have one! I personally love when your nails and toes match the flowers; such a cute touch.
• Wax those brows- I tend to get my eyebrows waxed before a special day such as Prom. It’s nice to get them reshaped and cleaned up. Definitely, try to get them done at least three days before; a lot of people have redness after or have leftover wax so it’s good to give yourself a few days to let them ‘set’.
• Get your glow on- Obviously, it’s the middle of April; therefore, the likelihood of the sun blessing you with that pretty glow already is unlikely. Some people like to use tanning lotion but I know a spray tan is the route a lot of girls take for the night. It’s obviously not necessary but it’s nice to have that sun-kissed look temporarily. For all my local ladies, Hair Razors in town is offering $25 spray tans for prom or a free one when you schedule a hair appointment with them! Act fast; I know they will fill up quickly!
• Keep moisturizing- I feel like I’m always applying moisturizer to my face but the week of Prom especially- I will be making sure to stay on top of this! Dry skin under makeup is the worst and so uncomfortable. Keep that skin looking and feeling healthy!
• Do a trial run!- Often times I’m indecisive when it comes to what sort of eyeshadow and lip color I want to wear to a dance. If I can catch a spare moment I like to do a trial run of the makeup I may want to wear and the hair I plan on doing. I tend to curl my hair and it’s always nice to practice + try out a few different looks to see what you feel prettiest in!
• Take tons of pictures- The last thing on my prom checklist has got to be this! I have loved looking back at my mom’s old prom pictures over the years and know that such an exciting day in high school will be one you want to look back on later.

This is just a little checklist of beautification that I will be running through throughout the week. If your Prom is coming up, I hope this was a big help and if you’re far out of high school, I hope this made you reminisce on the special day!
