Although my Senior year Homecoming dance was by no means my favorite, it would be so wrong of me not to share the festivities with you. It’s become a tradition for me to recap everything from my hair to the dress I wore; that’s what we’ll be chatting about today! I hope you’re excited because I think you’re going to love this one…
Not my typical ‘Get Ready With Me’ post as I don’t have too many pictures to share but I decided to still share how I got ready for the big night as far as hair and makeup goes.
For the hair, I started off by washing it as normal Friday night. I blew it dry before going to bed in order to give it a little extra volume and then headed to bed. Saturday morning I left it alone until mid-afternoon when I started getting ready. I really wanted to give my hair a ‘second-day hair’ feeling in order to get a bit more body and for my curls to hold a bit better.
I sectioned off my hair using the Not Your Mother’s Texturizing Dry Shampoo in order to give it some major volume and then curled my hair as normal with the Conair 1.5″ curling iron. As always, I sued the Got2B Glued Freeze Blast Hairspray to hold it all in place. Boring, yet a never-fail look for me; I suppose I’m just not one who loves switching up their hair, lol.
Kept things pretty simple as far as makeup goes. I went about my everyday makeup routine for the most part and went for a gold lid with orange hues in the crease. A darker lip felt right with this look and lots of highlighter perfectly tied this look together.

Although I am pretty tan as it is, I decided to go ahead and get a spray tan for my last Homecoming and I’m so glad today. there’s something about a little extra glow that makes me feel so much better about my appearance.
For all my local ladies be sure to head to Hair Razors in Damascus to get tanned. It’s only $25 and takes about ten minutes total to get tanned. For those wondering, it is such an easy process, lasts about a week and I went with the darkest shade which ended up only a bit darker than my post-summer shade! I highly recommend it for any special occasion or dance you may have coming up. Be sure to tell them I sent you!
If you’ve been keeping up with Weekly Wrap Up’s lately then you would know that this year I’ve been interning at a local consignment store. That’s where I found my beautiful black fringe dress. This vintage beauty was such an eye catcher and I received all sorts of compliments. It was sassy, different, and so me!
I wore classic black block heels for my shoes and gold statement earrings + my Sugarfix cuff to complete the look. 10/10 on this look for the night.
Wanted to share just a few more pictures from the night. Enjoy!
And just like that, you’ve reached the end of my last ever Homecoming Get Ready With Me! I’ve loved having you all along for the ride over the years. Thanks so much for the love this weekend!
With love, McKenz
