I’m On A Jacket Kick

“It’s cold outside, McKenz, you need a jacket”. I’ve heard this phrase hundreds upon hundreds of times over the years. For as long as I can remember, my dad and I have always fought about wearing a jacket.

Something as simple as wearing a jacket for the five-minute ride to school could have prevented tens of arguments but as a fashionable gal I would never give in. “It’s only five minutes”, “the car is heated!”, or “it will ruin my outfit” were phrases I uttered all too often. To be honest, it was only a year ago that I started wearing a coat without being a complete pill. My Aunt Cath bought a beautiful, knee-length blush coat from Old Navy and I was drawn to it so I asked for the same one last Christmas. I got it and my whole family questioned when I’d ever wear it since I’d rejected jackets for as long as we could remember.

Fast forward a year and I’m on a jacket KICK, y’all. Like a big kick!

Like I cannot get enough and every time I get to pick out new clothes, I always choose a jacket too. After years of refusal, I have finally realized that I do not have to sacrifice my sense of style by keeping warm. So, today I’m sharing my three newest coats courtesy of SheIn. If you’re on a kick like me, you are going to love these. And if you’re not – this may just convince you otherwise.

The Velvet Crush

When sifting through SheIn’s hundreds of styles one afternoon, avoiding my responsibilities, I discovered this beauty. I had never seen a velvet coat before and was instantly drawn to this style. Blush is easily one of my favorite colors to wear so I was instantly sold on this jacket!

I ordered a Small after reading the reviews and size charts and it fit my freakishly long arms perfectly! I was pleasantly surprised by how soft this coat was and it’s definitely heavier than my other jackets from them. It’s rather short in the torso but it’s supposed to be more of a cropped style! The hood is removable which makes me love this even more.

The Black Fur

Fur coats are all the rage this season. This one doesn’t have long faux hair as does the white coat I featured a couple of weeks ago. This jacket doesn’t shed and is the perfect length for me! It comes in multiple colors but I went for the black as I don’t have any black jackets in my collection.

I again ordered a size small in this jacket and it’s just the right size. So if you’re somewhere super cold I wouldn’t necessarily recommend this one as it’s definitely a thinner style compared to most. I love the way this one pairs with this cute striped sweater and a fluffy beanie!

The Blush Teddy

It seems like everyone under the sun has a teddy coat at this point and I totally understand why. They are the softest thing ever and seriously feel like you’re wearing a blanket… but a stylish one, lol. Shocker, I ordered this one in the blush color and am so glad I did.

As you can tell this shade of pink is definitely lighter than the velvet one. I ordered a Small in this coat and it’s definitely oversized. If you’re looking for something a little more form-fitting, I would recommend sizing down. I think this is the perfect option if you’re looking for a statement coat or if you’re someone who likes to be comfy at all times! I can easily picture someone popping this over a cute quarter zip and their favorite leggings.
